Having just watched the highlights on Player I have some sympathy for Keith - why the **** was Greening marking Davies at the free kick that led to the second goal? He makes no effort at all to even jump and lets Davies easily out jump him and power the header in. They only really had any threat from set pieces and then it was only Zigic and Davies so we had to have our tallest players/best headers covering these two. Two from McNulty, Stones, Hassell, maybe Tudgay who's got a great leap on him should be marking these two, but Greening? Keith must be fuming. He can't do much about the stupity or incompetence of players out on the field, other than get rid asap. I suspect Greening won't be spending another month with us...

What got me was he said they picked up different players from the ones they were supposed to - did he address this at half time? if he did what's going boss couldn't to happen? can you imagine that happening under other managers - sorry boss couldn't be ars** picking him up - wanted him instead

Because clearly marking the ones that Hill tells them to has worked all season ! Right?

Pretty much yes - the main problem this season has been failure to score goals and defensively we've not done too badly. Set pieces have been a problem recently I admit...

It's bizarre. We hadmn't conceded from a set piece all season, and then bang, we concede a glut of em.

It's bad luck. Ask Dyson. ;)

Only just seen the goals how can anybody but Steele be at fault at least for the 2nd. A ball lobbed into the middle like that should have been easy for somebody who was touted as an England international last season.

Well mark Ben was actually very good with corsses.

He used to come for them.
At Charlton a lot of the after match talk coming out of the valley was about that.

Steele keeps making mistake after mistake. Time to go back to ben, we won when ben was in goal more often then with luke.

Sorry Phil but your mate Ben was poor, at just about everything he did, that is why we got him cheap, because he aint very good, same as Preece, who you also said was good.
If Alnwick gets in the team while Steele is fit then I will not go to Oakwell again, so probably this will happen tomorrow!

Tbf, I'm close to admitting that Alnwick deserves another go. Steele's been poor in the last 3 home games. IMO, obviously.

We got luke cheap too. and Muller....

We are having problems with Crossing. Lukes weakness is crossing. Steeles not having a lot of shots to save which is luke strength.
Crossing and ball retentions Ben's strength, the very two things we are having problems with. At Charlton he came 7 yard for a cross. Luke doesn't come out 7 CM for a cross.

I agree with all that. Apart from the cheap bit. Still would give Luke another go tmro.

I don't think either are very consistent. Now if we had Muller in goal he would have saved a few of these set piece goals or at least the scorers would have very sore heads

wrong . old flappy was not good on crosses unless they were from way out and no-one was in his way, otherwise he was a flapper.

You watch luke on the highlights. he runs at the guy heading the ball and then puts both of is hands together above is head hoping its going to stop the ball. HE HOPES that.

Go back and watch Ben. He was coming for the ball. Big jump and winning the ball and guess what. we didn't conceded a set piece.

    Stop talking garbage

The biggest flapper at crosses we've ever had was Dave Watson! You never liked Muller from the start, even preferring Nick Colgan to him!:D
Heinz Muller is the best goalkeeper I've ever seen play for Barnsley and if anyone says otherwise, I'll close my eyes, stick my fingers in my ears and shout "La, la, la la"!:D
    There's nothing like open & reasoned debate!!:D
