....it's time the players took some responsibility for where we are now, okay Hills taken the hit but despite his Wendy links Mega would put a rocket up a few backsides and IMHO they need it. Let him sort out the winners from the wilters, he says it how it is and I believe we are too soft, even if we don't keep him for long he's the man for the job 100%

Well I thought that at first but when you look into what we need right now he'd be spot on. I'm not saying the football will be pretty but look at the possession we have and turn it into nothing, it's about winning ugly at times, we've gone time after time recently for footballing managers and we admitted it we'd have taken any ugly win over the past few months at home.

Not saying he's the long term future but this squad needs a reality check and he would be the man for it.

The change at Barnsley needs to be radical and I don't think any other managers talked about could do the job that has to be done.

You'll not hear me ever singing his name but I have to be honest, he's exactly what we need NOW!!!

He's ginger, so Bobby would have a good chance of being captain.

Lets get this band wagon rolling, unite, put his past club to one side and rally for our club. Nobody has to have him round for tea just get him in and let him do the job....

....it won't be pretty, but when he's done ANY team will know they've played us.

It's time we kicked and punched our way out of this nice tippy tappy state we're in and found some do or die spirit!!

He's yer man I tell thee, we'll regret it if he goes to somewhere like Bristol City and gets them up for a scrap.

    Come on you reds!!!

    Megson comes ......... I go.

Not that my absence will make the slightest bit of difference to the decision-making process ! !

    Just out of interest why?

I will be honest and say he isnt my first choice - but there is a good case to be made for him his record is pretty good and he has managed at this level before sucessfully. He was also doing OK at the fowls when Mandrick sacked him

Met him when he coached West Brom, probably the most arrogant man I ever met in football. I had the cheek to ask him if I had really just witnessed his players practising hassling a ref (which I swear is true) and his response was "do you know anything about the game?". Hated him ever since. And Ian St John (not that he'll be applying).

Fair enough - I've never met him and dont know a lot about him - not someone I warm to but dont care if he gets us playing - but as I said not my first (or second) choice but not a name that would have me posting my Season Ticket back - like a Blackwell would

    Cheers Farnham and Ryhill!

Now we just need to convince Don & Co between us!!!

I know he won't be everyone's flavour, not mine under normal circumstances if I'm honest but I just can't get away from what he'd bring, heads stuck in where it hurts, telling precious players they need to get stuck in or do one! Throw bodies in front of everything or face the wrath. I said it before we're too soft.

Pick the bones out of his CV too, seriously it's not half bad, Bolton, West Brom, he's led better sides than us to success. Was talking to a Wendy fan yesterday who said we could do far worse.

I'd be interested to hear views on why not to go for him...

I couldn't accept Blackwell at all. I get the feeling whoever we get it won't be pretty for the rest of the season !

And guarantee the choice will split this board into fully fledged warring factions :)

Andy fella, just to be clear you're reason for not wanting Mega is he's arrogant and hassles refs?

So Fergie would be off the list too then?

Mi point is you don't have to like him, I'm just trying to put forward a case to save us from doom!!

He's really been in demand ain't he ..... dunno how we'll manage to entice him, we'd have to join the queue

    From Wikipedia:
"Darren Huckerby criticised Megson's coaching style, when explaining why he chose to sign for Norwich City, instead of Megson's West Bromwich Albion. "I told him I didn’t like the way he coached, I didn’t like the way he shouted at his players and didn’t like the way he treated seasoned professionals like 15-year-olds. I was just being honest with him. I said: ‘I’ve seen you on the sidelines and you look like a crazed animal'".[SUP][29][/SUP] According to Huckerby, Megson's response was that "He told me that was how he had to work with his players".[SUP][29]"[/SUP]

Or we could just let our players pansy around the field, like they have been doing.

Not my choice tbh but would go along with it if it happened. Last time we were in this predicament we went for untried simon Davey and it worked cos I thought at that point we were doomed.maybe megs is similar personality.

Thanks, you've just posted exactly why we need him!! I'll have you begging for him in the dugout soon! Lol

I think clubs have to be in a certain state to appoint a gaffer like Megson, sadly were in that state right now!

I know he's not been in great demand but that could be because some chairman won't want to hear moaning from the players when he bites their head off. Sadly, we need impact, a leader.

There's been plenty who've likened Maccas no nonsense approach to Megsons, look at what's happening at Ipswich!

Just on the Huckerby thing, talented lad but he was either awesome or went missing from one game to the next to be fair.
