I have said all season that I thought Hassells best position was midfield and I do still think that, but after watching him in defence against Brum. I think hes probably the best central defender at the club along with foster. Although I am yet to see collins play
Your joking bobby has to be in starting line up never mind squad not so sure about that he is in squad no douby
Has been all the time, he is not displined enough with his marking to play full back. He reads the game poorly to play full back Keeping it simple in midfield is his game. Unfortunately for him he is not as good as any of the midfielders that we currently have
They were loan players. They weren't brought to the club to replace Hassell. If you're going to replace someone then you sign someone else. No one did. They tried out loan players then brought Bobby back in to the side. Trippier was moved in to midfield and Shotton was played at centre half. If Bobby hadn't been played by the managers you mention then how on earth has he racked up so many appearances? He was obviously played and you're just being obtuse. Only manager that has really tried to replace Bobby permanently is Hill and look at his managerial record. The worst of any manager we've ever had.
If Flicker plays Wiseman tomorrow I really don't think either of them should bother going back to Oakwell because it will start to look like sabotage.
I honestly think they may have waited until after this match to sack Hill if they were going to keep flicker in charge. Hill will have been round his house last night discussing tactics
How can we trust Flitcroft to pick a team to win this game? He's as big a part of the problem as Hill. I don't think he will give a monkeys saying that him and Hill came as a team.
Tyrone !! You 2 faced fecker, you said it was only me that you disliked! I am so ashamed now, you trollope , you brazen hussy, spreading your dislikes around !!
What I fail to grasp about the Hassell omission is that there are any number of players, especially in defensive positions, who could have been dropped for this game. McNulty for his poor recent performances. Wiseman for his poor recent performances. Golbourne for his average recent performances. Maybe Stones for his inconsistent recent performances. But no, it's Hassell once again. He did well against Birmingham, when thrust into an unfamiliar position against a giant in Zigic, distributed the ball well and generally looked good. But he's the one that gets dropped. There must be non-footballing reasons for his continual non-selection because however highly or lowly you rate Bobby, there are worse players, both in terms of quality and performances, who are getting picked over him consistently.
I thought the ideal is to have two good players for every position. Trippier took his opportunity and was great for us. He quite rightly kept Hassell out of the side for a while, Bob would tell you as much. But that was then. We don't have that luxury any more and no-one is going to convince me that Scott Wiseman is anywhere near as good a footballer as Kieron Trippier.
