-If he gave it to Perkins, then he should have disallowed it for offside, so by process of elimination I go for McNulty!!
The ref doesnt give it to anyone. He just records that Barnsley have scored. The club decides who gets the credit
As far as I know Harewood was credited,if you watch it on player it was missing before it hit Perkins,I had to listen to the Peterborough commentary on player and they seemed to think Perkins was offside...but that it may have caught a Peterborough player on its way through.
Just checked, the club names them in the FL. Only the premier league has a dubious goals panel to decide if two people make a claim.
Why didn't you look on the paper this morning then? Or online, or ceefax? Said Harewood in the Telegraph.
papers uhh we've been called Burnley in some tabloids so don't trust them with owt, av seen em put 1_1 score lines for games where teams have scored a couple of goals in Injury time and scores been 3_1don't think they turn up half at time
I was absolutely convinced at the game Perkins got a touch and it looks like it on replays, just watch his reaction.
It's a strange one. We scored one similar a few years ago against Burnley I believe. Think it was the game on sky when we won 3-2. Campbell Ryce had a shot which deflected off of Simon Whaley who was in an offside position and was credited with the goal. You'd think Perkins would be credited with this goal by the same reasoning but it seems Harewood has been given it.
That's why I can't understand if Perkins did touch it why don't he claim it once refs given it. Surely he would have contested club if he'd touched it
