He was shopping for shirts in Debenhams at Meadowhall. I said "There's a job going at Oakwell, you know". He replied "So I've heard". Asked him if he was interested and he said "I couldn't possibly comment".

    Top bloke though.

Could be! He was looking on the sale rail, so maybe trying to fit in with our budget...;)

Can I add into this that Chris Powell at Charlton would tick all the boxes above, but the difference being Charlton gave the guy a chance in Management and he's done well.

Redders could be good for BFC..........maybe he just needs the chnace?

I think you're probably right. Just shows how the game has changed in the last fifteen years.

Clearly Redders had a very strong affinity at BFC as he played 292 out of 851 games for REDS.
Easily the highest appearance tally in his career.

Cracking player/leader........and must add that when I went to see him at the Lamproom Theatre, he projected himself as a very genuine, motivated guy and openly admitted he would love to manage BFC and would always "put a team out to win". Now we aint seen that for a while 'av we?

Id love redders to be involved somehow, as manager I'm not sure. But I'd rather him and/or Darren Moore than some of the names banded about....

Would be a bad decision. I see nothing to suggest he would win half of our remaining games, which we probably need to do now to stay up. Obviously I hope i'm horribly wrong, but this isn't the time for sentiment - which is exactly what this appointment would be about.

Powell took over in an easier league with one of the best budgets in that league. Redfearn would be taking over a rock bottom club in a much tougher league, with one of the smallest budgets in that league. There lies the difference.

Redders would be good as a 1st team coach, but whether he would accept that is open to question.

Dreamboy3000........Fair point.......but there is similarity with the players/clubs.

I don't think now is a good time for BFC and Redfearn but I hope one day we do arrange this "marriage".

    Brilliant player. Terrible manager.

Would be a crying shame for all concerned if he got the job.
