    Drop in attendance

general apathy combined with economic climate. Think most clubs outside the Prem have experienced it. Football as a whole needs a huge wake up call.

Prediction: at least 1 Championship club will enter Administration before the end of the season.

Pity we haven't got all the other clubs wage bills to compare the task, only the odd ones but l think its safe to say that its the lowest wage bill in the league.

League 1 budget eventually gives you a league 1 team.

So £500k in wages for those 3 (Cryne's 'loan' increased by that in the period) = each laiker on 10k a week(ish).

Hill had the lowest budget in the league and in Barnsley's recent history and had the worst record. No coincidence anymore. Fact. Context to the numbers etc etc.

Exactly what l said to DeeTee on twitter last week when l said he was working with a league 1 budget and l was told he had used 33 players and had received enough money. 33 players working for next to nowt compared to their Championship counterparts, proven now the wage bill is out.

There has been no attempt to improve the position, just a continued can't do attitude. Couple this with the negative attitude of the ex manager and you've got what we have now - utter ***** getting worse.

I agree, however, the point I was trying to make, was the reason 'why'. Why are the attendances failing? Why are we losing our best cheaply? Why aren't we building as a team. I don't like pointing the finger when I don't know the reasoning behind it. It may well be that Rowing and his team aren't up to the task. They may have their hands tied and are doing the best they can. I don't know...

"Wages reduced from £7.5m in 2011 to £6.2m at the end of May last year."

    There you go.

    Why won't it be £28?

Who did Keith get rid of?

    Shackell
    Haynes
    Goran

And then the Trippier, Mellis, O'Connor, Harewood, McShane, Hill loans will have come off.

9 players, £1.3 million right there. No wonder Robins was doing a 'decent' job.

    The accounts would suggest not

but I suspect there are some clubs that have gambled on promotion & that if it doesnt look likely come March/April will be calculating if a 10 point deduction is worth the risk.

Was there any cutting of wages other than players? Would be suprised if there wasn`t.

Also where is the bit telling us how many Blackies eggs we have left?

I don't think many contracts were up for renewal mate, I know Foster accepted reduced terms this season but not sure anyone else did.

It stands to reason that if the club were to go down, then the ticket prices would have to come down too. What I'm interested in knowing is how the club would be able to do just that. It's common sense that suggests that the stayaways would need to be even further encouraged to come and support a failing team in a lower division, and obviously, reducing ticket prices would have to be done to do just that. However, why can't the club reduce them now, and what would need to be done in order for them to reduce them next season (should we be relegated) and continue to operate as smoothly as possible?

That was this year, mate. The accounts cover up to May 2012, he signed his new contract in that summer for another 2 years.
