    No. I'm up too!

Well, let's hope he agrees terms because I think he is likely to be the best appointment.

I listened to Don Rowing's interview last night and I think a lot can be read between the lines about the reason why Ketih was sacked when he is asked what we are looking for, I think he said they want someone who understands the club, the fans and is not devisive (suggestion both in and out of the dressing room), or something along those lines. I can only assume Keith was too confrontational with too many people. S'OD is apparently the opposite. He will bring with him his own problems as quite often fans want a manager jumping up and down on the touchline, screaming at players. If they don't, they are accused of not being passionate. This is a finger that will definitely be pointed at SOD, if we manage to get him.

If we do get him, well done to the board, I think he is a good fit for Barnsley and what we are about. I think there is a good prospect that we may go down under him but having said that, his style of play isn't a million miles from "Hillcroft's" and perhaps (hopefully) that will mean less of a transition than taking the opposite approach of ripping up, starting again and bringing Megson in for 6 months to battle for survival, playing more direct football.

Fingers crossed there is credence to this article and fingers crossed he signs up because I think he is a good man, with good values and will be a good fit for this football club, but the fans as a collective would need to afford him time.

Agree with you Chef Tyke, out of all the touted managers he does seem the best fit. If we appointed Megson / Slackwell we'd need a completely new squad to play hoofballl.
Just hope it doesn't go t1ts up before he signs.

I agree. I'd be happy with him. The only trouble is his inteview voice which makes me want to commit suicide. He makes Mark Robins sound like Alan Carr

Not my first choice but SoD makes sense for so many reasons you can't knock the club for going in that direction.

Agreed. Plus so many people want him so they'll only be able to blame themselves and not the club should it all go wrong ;)

Outstandingly the best candidate - and for the longer term.

We must all stick with him now - this is a long term project with someone who knows what they are doing, not just a chancer.

We may go down, but SOD will get us back up.

    COYR + SOD!!!

This is the same bloke who said Doncaster Rovers need to go down to win games to get fans back back in the ground because the Championship was too big for them, and some thing a long the lines of .... people only want to see winning football and they'll never be able to wins games with their budget in this league, the feel good factor needs to come back and the only way to get that back is to be relegated and compete at a lower level.

Can't see many of our fans agreeing with a attitude like that

I imagine that the board will probably assure him that if we go down he'll have next season to take us back up at least, or else you'd have to be skint or mad to take it if you've got his profile

Can't say I would be ecstatic but can fully understand the reasons and his sides do play football properly so thats a major plus.Mind you if it was a shortlist of four including Blackwell and Megson (was the other Flitcroft?) and they want to unite the fans then his stock goes up 10 fold

That would definitely suit MadMark, I do believe he is missing Keiths interviews already. I think he would be the best appointment for us so I'd be more than happy with him but I know it wouldn't suit everyone. The other might I was chatting to a fellow red and he said that "if O'Dreary got the job he wouldn't be going again as it would be like Hill all over again which didn't work and we'd be doomed". A hard decision indeed for the board.
