Agreed, although I also think Steele is a good captain and it would perhaps be unfair to take it away from him.

"fifthed", or whatever. He would make a very good captain.

He's definitely a future legend in the making. Have to admit I was unsure of him at first but now he's found his feet the effort he puts into every game is unbelievable, you could put O'Brien in that category as well.

Trouble is, if we had an attacking midfielder or striker who was scoring goals for fun then we probably wouldn't even be noticing their presence on the pitch!

No, he's alright as he is. He nearly got himself into a lot of bother at Peterborough, arguing the toss over our goal while the ref was listening to the lino's version, not even Harewood could reason with him. He's got some fantastic qualities and he's a great team player, the only player to check on the well being of Tudgay lying injured prior to being stretchered off - except Simclair who was on the spot - but he's hot headed and if he lost it as captain, there is no-one to reign him in. I thought he was going to kick a Millwall player up to join us in the upper tier of the Den and offering out Shackell isn't how a captain behaves, Redfearn didn't behave like that*. All the qualities mentioned he will still have, a good manager and captain will channel them in the right direction.

Saying all that, you could argue that the captaincy would make him more responsible without tempering his spirit. :)

*Knocking Lee Bowyer on his arse is not actually against the rules.

I'd be the first to admit that when he came he had an ale house league swagger about him, he's definitely adjusted and any scout worth his salt would be passing on favourable reports about him. Not sure if he'd be able to play at a higher level than the Championship, but who knows.

Quickly becoming a fans favourite. Reckon he should be captain too. Potential to be a legend at the club.

Absolutely. Proper captain material and a overhyped decent player too.

Worrying that the SS article says we told Birmingham to come back for him when we have a new manager in place. Yes they are skint but if they sell Butland for 6 million they won't be skint for long.

Let's hope we keep hold of him. He is integral to us staying up. And should we go down, he is the kind of player we definitely need to get back up.

Unless they get about 50m for him I wouldn't worry too much over Birmingham.

6m won't touch the sides of what they owe.

The cup draw will suit him, too

If his old club goes through. Oh, and I agree with making him captain.
