sacking managers every 18 months = continued decline. Who would want a job for a soon to be League 1 club run by the bloke who used to turn the floodlights on, with no budget for players, an invisible owner and a dwindling fan base who still live in the 1980s?

I appreciate that you say these things more to get a reaction than anything else but, just out of interest, what makes you believe the fan base is still living in the 1980's (other than occasional, and understandable, nostalgia for a special team at the start of that decade)?

completetly ignoring/refusing to accept that football has moved on and everything about the club points towards us being a middle to lower League 1 club. There's an attitude on here that is based on 30 years ago we stayed in the division for a period it gives us the right to expect it now and if a manager cant deliver it they should be sacked.

Nah look. No club in 2 years without dramatic changes off field imho.

 

At this moment in time l would take a takeover over a new manager.

I could cope with being relegated and the club sorting its issues off the field out and bouncing back stronger.

 

This league is really Premiership 2 and even though we are bottom Keith Hill was doing a decent job in developing players and most of the players were fully committed to the cause. Without doubt without proper investment and proper support of the new manager we could easily become the next Plymouth or Portsmouth.

Some of the people who frequent this board (including me) have memories that stretch back to the really dark days of the mid-60's. Personally, I am only too aware that football has moved on, but I don't ever remember a time when supporters thought it acceptable that the club they follow would accept defeat week after week, that key employees would constantly talk the club down, and that relegation would be meekly accepted because reality dictates that the club's rightful place is in the league below. If we had we would never have experienced many of the good things that have been achieved.

We are surely on our way to League One anyway so presumably you'll be a lot happier once we've reached our level
