    Diabolical wherever he's been.

    Can't say I'm too optimistic.

My mistake. Five wins in 23 at Brentford. In the division below. He's got a great record.

I bloody well hope so. I'd love to see him at Oakwell.

Yes I have a very miserable existence. Based purely on the fact that when I think someone is a bad manager or player I say it. Get a bleedin grip.

He last managed in England ages ago.

Has it been something like 5 years?

Anyway it's a long time and i'm sure he's learned some lessons along the way.

Who do you want then Conan?

That's all you EVER say about BFC. You are like some bloody great black cloud over Oakwell. I hate to say it, but maybe you should go and support Man U - it might cheer you up!

We're not going to get an experienced manager with a good win %age, purely and simply because they're all either still in jobs (due to their high win %age) or can command a wage higher than we can afford.

Then there's the issue whereby they probably won't take the job because they don't want to sully their reputation by getting relegated and abused.

Butcher or Coyle are probably the best we can do imo and both performed better in Scotland than England as a manager.

Conan can I just say one thing and that is that I tend to agree with you on this point and have said so in previous posts. His record in England is poor but it might just work out for him and if he is willing to come (I am very sceptical about this) then he needs to be given our unreserved support. Personally I think success at ICT is measured very differently to success here and is much easier to achieve. If he gets the job I will support him fully but I'm not sure he is the right man for the job.

If you want to be really pedantic it's 21.7%.

Can I contain my excitement? Yes, I think I can.

    Prove me wrong Terry. Please.

I will support him Mario but I am very sceptical. There have been plenty of managers who I never rated and never wanted to get the job but initially I have given them my support. I will give Terry Butcher my support and I will renew my ST next year. I just don't have high hopes and I see no harm in saying that on here. If he performs poorly I will be one of the first on here to point it out.

I find it interesting that the majority of fans want Butcher because his last job was a good one and then ignore his earlier record.

Yet if we were to go for Phil Brown, Graham Westley, Paul Ince etc they're rubbish. Despite doing a good job before.

Seems you're only as good as your last job. Worraloadofballacks

It would certainly be the first question in any interview wouldn't it? Tell me Mr Butcher, what have you learned in your 5 years since your, how shall we put it? Difficult time managing in England?
It's all very well have 5 years of experience, but is that 1 year 5 times or 5 years of experience?
It is a legitimate concern, not sure why people are jumping on Conan's back tbh.
