I completely agree with you on this. Fantastic player and captain but so far he's done nothing as a manager in England. If he gets the job I hope he forces copious amounts of humble pie down my throat.

Would you take it with ice cream or custard tho Mario ?

Seriosuly I dont like the look of Terry's past record either but that doesnt mean he wont do a good job for us. He isnt my choice at the moment but that doesnt mean I wouldnt support him.

According to a journalist from Inverness they play attacking football but he likes to get the ball forwards quickly - no tippy tappy stuff. Also likes to tuck the full backs in (not at bedtime) apparently.

To be honest if were going to get out of this mess, that's what we need.

We need goals even if its 3-2, 4-3. we carnt afford to be playing for 1-0 anymore.

If we go down I want to see us go down fighting. Not making 50 passes in our own half at 1-0 down with 10 mins to go

We created plenty of chances, we just failed to score them. But with our top scorer gone I'm sure we'll start rattling them in

He's not been for interview yet, we might find out he pulls legs off sparrows.

He's apparently a hoof it merchant, according to what I've read.

Nothing like SOD, or King Keith.

His record in England is poor, albeit short-lived. I do think he was harshly sacked at Cov, though, and was only 31 or summat at the time. I've read a Brentford forum and he's their version of Spackman. They despise him.

But he's worked wonders at ICT, on an 800k a year budget, recruiting mainly from the English lower leagues.... sound familiar?
Although even their fans on their forum reckon he was hated just a few months ago..

So I'm struggling with it all if I'm honest.
But because he was a childhood hero of mine, and seems a fighter in the Megson mould, I'd be quite satisfied to see him here.

But whoever gets it (apart from Blackwell, Palmer or Sidekick) they'll have my support until such a time they don't deserve it.

Experienced international performed on top stage... a motivator... and well respected throuought the game. None of the above applied to Mr Hill.

His first managerial job he was 31... As player manager. A few learning curves along the way but he was still young and inexperienced as a manager. And has had great success north of the boarder.

Could be fantastic. Also well connected... Got my fingers & toes crossed

lets face it, its pot luck with any mangerial appointment at our level , all this spouting off about candidate x y and z is irrelevant. we are in all likelyhood going to be relegated this year, any manager who comes in is on a hiding to nothing.

my reply to the first post in this thread was more in exasperation as butcher hasnt even been to the club for talks yet alone been appointed yet and already someone feels the need to have a dig. not needed imo.

But the 54 year-old, capped 77 times by England during a glittering career with Ipswich Town and Rangers, is no one-man band.

Indeed, Butcher, a master at motivation,

quotes are easy to come by :)
