this kinda says a great deal http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/scottish-premier/table lost only 3 games. Some might say that the SPL is a crappy league, I would wager most of that leagues sides would be a very tough test for a good deal of Championship sides.Indeed also for a good few Prem sides.
It is a crappy league - comparable to league one i would reckon. Which should be good cos thats the league we will be in next season. Keith saw to that.
No, you said most of that league's side would give the Premiership a good test. I bet Wigan would beat ICT, Hibs, Hearts, Dundee, Dundee United, Aberdeen, Motherwell. In fact, I bet we would. Celtic only decent side that would maybe cause a few Championship sides a problem.
Re: no mate you are wrong, Dyson sez so Exactly. Tha daft thee. You've said an opinion. I've said mine. Yet I'm a lovely person cos I disagreed with you.
aww hey now, no no no. You have every right to an opinion its not my fault you are lovely person at the same time tho' and thats a leg pull, not being serious here.
That will be Celtic who beat Barcelona..... I think they would more than cause a few Championship sides a problem. Its a pretty academic discussion but my opinion is that Celtic would be top half of the EPL and then the gradient dropping off quite quickly so that the bottom sides in the SPL would struggle at the bottom of the Championship.
You got that slightly wrong... Wigan *could* beat ICT, Hibs, Motherwell, etc. Like they could beat half the clubs in the Premier League but because it isn't yet March they don't try or something. I think the solid mid-table PL sides (Norwich, Swansea, and the ilk) would beat the Scottish sides nine times out of ten, but only maybe the top 3-4 could beat Celtic regularly. Like others have said, the lower teams - St Mirren, Dundee - would probably struggle at League 1 standard
As long as we get some of this on the dugout then ill be happy..
I went to watch Raith Rovers v Hamilton Academical at the beginning of this season and the standard was no different to what we have been seeing this season, and they're a division below the Scottish Premier. I think the English League is only the best in the world because that's what Sky keeps telling us.
I went to watch Celtic v ICT last year and I wasn't impressed with standard to be honest - second half was awful. Take my hats off to Celtic who have done brilliantly this year but think would be mid table premiership - lot of championship players in their team - rest of pl would be able to hold their own in championship with a few strugglers
Jamie Murphy, one of the League's top strikers, has signed for Sheffield United of League One. Rob Jones was one of the best Centre Halves in Scotland and struggled in the Championship. Jim O'Brien, one of the League's best wingers, is now an average Championship player. I don't think the standard (Celtic aside) is as good as the Championship therefore, but that doesn't mean Terry will be a bad manager if he takes the job.
The SPL is a very poor league and most teams in it would struggle in league one possibly even league two.
Only lost 1 game out of their last 20 which included beating Celtic away (If I've counted correctly).
I watch a lot of SPL foootball - sorry! Generally, I think most sides would struggle in the Championship. The obvious exception is Celtic. Even now, if they went to the EPL I think it might be a bit of a struggle. The advantage they have is that, once the ridiculous amounts of sponsorship money kicked in and equalised things with the top English Clubs, then they are genuine contenders for the title. Their worldwide pulling power is immense. Only MU would be comparable.
