I just remember everybody standing near back of the ponty and brewery stand in Wimbledon game - it looked from certain angles as if there were was no one there at all

Nah, I'm sure there were more than 200 of us at that game.

Edit: whoops, meant for this to reply to the post about Palace away in the Premiership.

Definitely more than 200 that night.

Wimbledon away was a Tuesday night aswell, I think, so would be the likely candidate.

The crowd against Burnley would have been considered big during the early to mid 70's. admitted we were in the 4th division.

I remember a dead rubber (for us) last game vs Hudds in late 80's? lost 0-1

Hudds stayed up and I had it in my mind there was less than 3000?

Wasn't a huge following for the Wimbledon game, and it was a painful game to watch us lose 4-1. I remember some report in the paper the next day about the overall attendance, which was only around 7,000 or so.

Most vivid memory is the away end being behind the goal for the Wimbledon game, instead of the stand down the side which is the normal Palace away end.

However, before reading the comment that kicked all this off, I'd have said that none of our away followings were below 200 that season, and I went to every away game. Wimbledon on the Tuesday was definitely the lowest but I'd still have guessed at 3-400.

Weren't we 1-0 up at half-time though? I recall us being quite jubilant on the concourse at half-time and the TV cameras being there for some reason. It all went wrong in the second half though.
