    It's a very

Soft, lilting accent. As opposed to the aggressive Glaswegian accent, for example.

Glaswegian? Agressive? How can you even put those words in the same sentence? :D

It's the capital of the Highlands, mate

I love it up there, stunningly beautiful scenery. The locals have always be exceedingly friendly to us when we've holidayed in the area.

Look at rural Ireland if that's your cup of tea.

Avoid Dublin cork etc. head out to the hills. West as you can!

Right up in the north. It's beautiful and sits just next to Loch Ness.

    Well

The golden eagles we saw were definitely free range! We've also done some dolphin, whale and monster watching. Unfortunately, we never saw any whales.

    Having lived in "Invernutia"

I say Invernutia because it always felt like I was on another strange, distant but beautiful planet. I might have stayed had the work been more secure but having said that when I came back to civilization it was such a relief. Can see why anyone would want to escape as well as love the place.

They mostly have a rather mild accent and speak a rather more refined version of the english language than most round here, unless of course they were unintelligiable aberdonians or misplaced central belt nutjacks with celtic/rangers affiliations - more predominant than ICT supporters.

Quite liked the odd trip to watch ICT or Ross County.

I pine for the fjords at times and will always think of the Murray Firth as my 2nd home.

Honestly a lot of my work is Irish based.

Out of the big cities its just rolling green, lakes and big red bits from the beet farmers.

    I love it, mate

If I could get an archaeological job up there, it'd be perfection for me. I was once walking through Drumnadrochit wearing a Barnsley shirt, when a woman walked up and threw her arms round me. "Eeh lad, it's good to see someone frum t'tarn!. I come from Wombwell, what about you?". I was lost for words for a couple of seconds, believe it or not!:D
