Re: Can we stop being so negative about Wiseman please?

Apologies, you're far too quick for me.

Now Davies has gone and Wiseman hasn't can we make a positive from this ??

Give Wiseman a go at centre forward, lets face it , he cant score less frequently than Chris Dagnall.

I do think he was taken off because he was getting booed. It's true he didn't have a good game but when your own fans are booing you your confidence is going to plummet. You've got no chance of performing well regardless of how good you are. Boo the team at full time if you must, but targeting individual players isn't going to help at all.

He's taken a lot more stick than he deserves just because he took Bobby's place in the team. I think the majority still think that Hassell could do a better job than Wiseman at full back but playing Hassell against King would have been a nightmare. He's not as young as he once was and wouldn't have been able to cope at all with King's pace/acceleration.

I agree with Hill in that Hassell's best position is DM as he's just no longer athletic enough for full back anymore. He was ripped to shreds by Jarvis away at Wolves and I think that turned out to be the last game he played there. However, I disagree with Hill in that Wiseman can play CB, he's not commanding enough and lacks knowledge of the position. He can sweep up balls in behind which is useful if we want to play a high line but that's about all he can do. It was unfair of Hill to play him there.

Where all this leaves Wiseman now I don't know. He's not going to turn out to be a good player for us now. He knows no one likes him and it's going to affect his performances. I think his future lies elsewhere where the fans aren't set against him from the beginning.

I think people are slightly unfair on Wiseman - he's been poor this season yet, but we cant blame him for Hill playing him at CB and making him captain.
He at least tries his best, which is more than can be said for Davies.
Booing him is ridiculous - we need to get behind him.
He obviously doesnt believe he is the terrible player that everyone else thinks, maybe he has decided to stay because he believes he can help us out of this mess? Loyalty!

If hes staying, lets stop criticising our own player and actually support him!

Give him a chance with a new manager so he play in his position.

Im not saying I think hes a good player - how he stayed in the starting 11 for so long is beyond me - but actually booing him for not being very good is bizarre. At least he puts the work in for the team.
Could maybe still make a decent RB?

He can't defend, whether full back or centre half

    Agree.

Merlin likes to give of the impression that he knows of some bullying dished out by Hill and Flicker and he knows this from the inside..... Wheres this info from..... Butterfield??? Thats the impression i get we should think its from..... Yet Jacob came out when Hill was sacked and said he felt sorry for him and hopes he does well at his next managerial position...... Surely if you had been bullied by Hill and Flicker - You would make it public knowledge to the hierarchy or the press at least and go out of your way to make it known. The only player to make any claim whatso ever to being bullied was lke you say - Vaz Te. And he uses it in a postive manner in his interviews. Look where its got him.......

Bit of a with hunt by Whitey against Hill for me..... I stand to be corrected with FACTS.

So now we've scientifically established that the booers are in fact heroes.
How curious then that no-one appears able to include themselves in their number.
    Guilty conscience, anyone?

I booed Keith Hill...Twice... when Wiseman was on the ball.

I did this to make a point against his team selection (which was wrong and appeared to me to be done out of stubborness). That stubborness cost us the game, and cost him his job.

Agree it's gay........moaning and groaning with dissatisfaction is fine (and I'm pretty good at that, both at Oakwell and at home) but booing is for the likes of Graham Norton.

Maybe you should not believe everything you read in the media, the players have not said much in support of Hill since he went have they?
