SOD has just had a big compensation pay out from Forest......and after the stresses of trying to bump start that football club it is understandable that he will not want to jump straight back into football...........especially to a club rooted at the bottom of the league TB has established a good set up in Scotland..........so why move to Barnsley ???..........and again, especially to a club rooted at the bottom of the league. I'm glad SOD didnt sign because it would have taken him a year to turn the team into the style he wants.......which would have seen us near the bottom of the 1st Division As for Terry Butcher...............not that bothered about him either Let Pat Cryne sort it out............because one thing in PCs favour is that he understands football - or he takes advice from someone who knows football The right man for the job will eventually be appointed
I agree Nudge and to be honest both came with a high risk of turning us down for the reasons stated by you. Next target will be Ince IMO.
there could be a pattern if we approach ince next, england players who wore bandages on there heads during internationals, if ince turns us down expect us to approach monty panesar
I don't think there's any disgrace in it either, we've got no right to automatically expect people to accept the job just because we offered it them. The bit that I find unprofessional is the comments coming out of the club, naming targets before they know if they're even interested and saying things like 'we see no reason why he'd turn us down' only to find that he turns us down. It's a bit embarrassing really. Especially considering that our form under hill was appalling and everyone in the country knew his sacking was inevitable yet it appears from the outside that the club hadn't even thought about what they'd do if they sacked him until after it happened when they started to scramble around trying to come up with a plan.
Hell..........Im doing something wrong if people are agreeing with me. I have faith when it comes to PC choosing a manager. I dont think hes got it wrong on any occasion..........right choice at the right time. Some may say that Hill was a bad choice. But once it had been announced that we were after him then 99% supported that appointment. Still think Hill would have been our best manager. The football played in patches under the management of Hill was the best seen at the WELL for decades. Problem was that Hill mis-calculated how much time he had to make things work.
Bleedin' ell. I agree with Nudger and Supertyke. Must be after watching that crap diving programme on Saturday, it's mashed me head.
