Next Friday the Mrs is taking me out for a Birthday meal (Italian my choice) I suggested Rinaldis at Wakefield but its closed due to a break in. I dont fancy Latinos in the Lucorum

Can anyone recommend anywhere in the Wakefield/Huddersfield area??

    Cheers

Rinaldis was more than a break in, didn't they drive into it and round and round inside it?

Sounds like parking at Asda is getting worse.

Puccini's on Dodworth Road is good.

Best place I've been to in a while is S'aint Angelo in Wetherby..............went during Christmas hols on way back from York..........great atmosphere and top-notch food at a decent enough price. Bit of a trek though, I admit !!!

Warning - there's a place in Scissett - don't go there under any circumstances - awful overpriced pseudo Italian. Went once and will never go near again - makes Pizza Hut taste authentic.

I thought it must have been more than just a normal break in for them to close and have a massive skip in the car park

Try Capri Bistro in Horbury or Valentino`s in Lofthouse Gate. The steaks in Valentino`s are superb

La Fortezza at Newmillerdam is very good especially for a special occasion. Really good atmosphere. In tarn, Romano's on Shambles Street is also a good atmosphere and the manager always gives you a free tipple of sambuca at the end of the meal. For a birthday you'll also get a piece of gateaux. Not that struck on Puccini's although the food is good.

I know its a trek but there are some really good ones near me.
Bella blu in bolsover is the best for top quality food. Half price pizza and pasta on Tuesday and Sunday!

Or in clowne there is a little one man restaurant, Sandros, owned and he is the cook, there are only 8 tables and its really quirky! The service is not quite up to scratch but its good home cooked authentic Italian food.

There's a good Italian in Honley, can't remember the name. If it's booked up there's a great curry house called Ballooshai just down the road.

Prego's is next best after Rinaldi's in Wakey IMHO, then Valentino's. All good. Might try that one in Horbury suggested further up the thread mind, never been there.
