We've got a relegation battle to win and one that COULD be vital to the future of the club. Who know's what impact going down and losing that TV money might have on OUR football club. Now's the time to forget the past, who you may or may not have wanted for the job and concentrate on the future and safety. Barnsley fans CAN make a difference in this relegation fight. Make our selves heard, become the twelth man. Encourage your mates who have got out of the habbit of coming to Oakwell and join the fight. Has anyone got the appetite to start up and join a campaign to try and get the people of Barnsley back behind the club? It would take an enormous effort and the club would have to do it's bit to help encourage those people back. Is it possible?
It's possible but were the bloody hell do you start Gally? As much as it pains me to see a half empty ground the last 12 months results have knackered us big time. We've now got 4 Saturdays away on the bounce now so there's plenty of time to drum something up but in the meantime our results need to back up whatever deal or offer the club may dish out. It'd be nice to play Leeds every week
Gally, I totally agree with you. I do think the club need to speculate to accumulate with regards to people through the gates..working in education albeit west of the border I know how much Huddersfield do to get youngsters to the games, think we need to get more round the schools and give tickets away Free kids and a £10 discount off an adult ticket or even a £10 each adult for the remaining games..... there is no better feeling in Oakwell when it is full!!! David Flitcroft.....hats off to the bloke, given a lot of passion over the last 2 weeks and who on earth would have taken this job on...apart from us fans!!!!! lets get behind him, whether we wanted SOD, Butcher or Hignett.
Look we know the club is under resourced. We've done that subject to death. That is not the issue here!
do you think the club will listen and take on board what the fans are trying to do Gally. if yes then we as the fans need to start something not just for the here and now but for seasons to come.
What do you want me to do? I pay my money, I advertised the Blackpool game like **** amongst my friends and social networking sites, and said that I'd more than happily give some of my spare time to the club to help in marketing matters if they are under resourced. That still stands - let me know what I can do Gally? The club needs to do SOMETHING itself though!
then your word is good for me agreed make ourselves look as proffesional and have a proper model/plan in place
Plan one: stop being so stubborn and lower prices. Fans can advertise the club as much as we want but at these prices its like trying to sell ice to the eskimos (at 28 quid a go)
I agree the club have to do something and they need to buy in otherwise we are wasting our time. That said, if we could all do our little bit in a co-ordinated manner then we might just be able to achieve something and have a positive effect.
be able to attract more kids in the 10-16 years range, also try to get more women going something like something like 15 quid maybe even 10quid in bring your spouse/partner for a fiver.
As much as it pains me to say it, last season Wednesday fans were brilliant at this. The club's Facebook page was a genuine asset in engaging the fans. My Facebook feed would be overrun with my Owls mates status updates, tagging in photos on the clubs page. The fans genuinely became a 12th man last year. The "we're all Wednesday aren't we?" phrase all built a vibe. It would be great if we could really try and get some momentum just on here. Build a cult hero feel around Flicker, Daggers, Dawson, whoever. I know I get accused of being a happy clapper but its because I genuinely believe a positive atmosphere at the ground and on social media improves the team's ability to win football matches, encourages better players to join us, and entices new and old people to games. It starts with us the fans, can the BBS keep the momentum of the last couple of days going?
Count me in . I will do whatever I can to help. Time is my big issue but for this I will make time . A meeting with don AND Taylor would be a great start.
