Seriously? its a one off payment.

Seen a tweet last night from Barnsley News & Sport even saying something about it still being £23 and not £20 for the "stayaways". Half the folk in Barnsley wouldn't moan about the £3 if they were spending it in the bookies or the off license.

    Get behind em.

Mental in it? £3 that they wouldn't blink twice at spending in the East Dene.. You still hear folk saying "well its still £23 if you're not a member"...

    Unbelieveable Jeff.

I can't get to many matches due to work. I paid the £3. And saved it on the first match! If i hadn't it would have cost me an extra £24 this season.

    Surely its a no brainer!

I dont think its the £3 cost that people are moaning about.

its the complications that go with it.

No complications, they can switch a computer on to log on here or go on social media websites so they can easily press a button on the link to the eticketing page. Suppose then they'd moan about the £1.50 P&P? Pick up their membership card before kick off and purchase a ticket at the same time?

nothing complicated about buying the membership, but apparently getting tickets afterwards is different

Thought you couldn't buy cheaper tickets with membership online.

Also having to turn up early etc, if this isn't the case then the club should say so.

I have no idea, as i have ST, just picking up on what other people have said

I meant buying the actual membership card which can be done easily enough on line. But a number of folk still going on abart it costing them £23.

We need to have membership cards only turnstiles. Problem solved.

I have sympathy for people who live outside the town. The membership scheme doesn't really work for them.

But i'd say 90% of people who are buying a matchday ticket or paying on the gate are living in Barnsley.

I'm 100% sure they could at least make it down to Oakwell to purchase a ticket at the discounted price before match day.

Tickets are on sale now for the next 2 home games even though they're over a month away.

In the odd occasion my girlfriend wants to go to a game with me, I pop through to the box office either before I start work in the afternoon, or after, if im working days.

I don't understand where the complications arise.

They managed to make it down for the Chelsea Quarter Final.

I'm sending the missus down, she's on Mat Leave, give her summat to do in the day......

You're absolutely right. These are the stayaways, who just pathologically look for one excuse after another. If we scrap the members card - which I do think will and probably should happen next season - it will be something else they find to whinge about...temperature of the bovril, volume on the telly's, locks on the toilet doors...ad infinitum

Seriously, it gets to a point where it costs more to satisfy these people, than what the Club would make from them

Agreed, if we scrapped the membership scheme next season, they'd change their excuse again.

If we on here have been struggling to understand all the hoop jumping/pricing then it must be harder for those who haven`t been or dont go regular.

Membership sounds like summat you maybe tied to and some folks may just want a one off look at us to see if the entertainment is there, I understand that there are folk out there that will put any obstacle in front of them but they aren`t all the same and branding them stayaways and criticising them as though they are another breed is more likely to put em off rather than encourage em to return. It smacks of them and us and that aint innit together or stronger together is it, which is what is needed at the moment.

the more membership members we have the better, same as season ticket holders,it gives the club an idea so they can forecast monies available to spend,ie on transfers.the more members we have also looks better for any potential investor.

Getting a card is not the issue, Gordon. The problem is the club not doing the sensible thing and making it simple for fans to use the discount on offer. Get card, turn up, go to turnstile, show card, hand over £20. See?? The more I say it, the simpler it gets.

From what l'm seeing from social media sites l was getting at the number of folk actually moaning about having to purchase the membership card so that they get the discount. I know how difficult the club have made it sometimes hence my suggestion above, the same as yours. Able to show your card on the turnstile to get the discount. Hopefully the club will listen.

I wasn't playing best fan or owt. I just knew from your posts that you weren't getting down to Oakwell as much as you once did. So I thought you might understand those who went to the Chelsea game but aren't going regularly any more.

The main reason this season his due to the missus giving birth in July, secondly the price. I had planned on going to no more home games this season though before the price drop, now l'll probably get in Bolton, Leicester, Derby & Hull.

I wasn't having a go at them attending the matches it was more the excuse that they couldn't get down to Oakwell during office hours to purchase their cards, but they managed to get down to Oakwell during office hours for the big cup game tickets.
