Just watched it after recording it. Probably the best series opener I've ever seen. Highly recommend it. Should be on 4oD if you missed it.
Group of people who meet on an online forum dedicated to a cult magazine, I think they have got the original copies. They are being pursued by 2 blokes from "The Network" (don't know anything about them yet though) who are brutal. One of the 5 has already had chilli pepper, sand and bleach rubbed in their eyes and then 1 of them gouged with a spoon. There is some real mystery to go with the occasional but severe violence too. I will be watching the whole series.
Meant to catch this, the clips I'd seen had a smiliar feel to Kill List (even some of the same actors), thought it'd be worth a look. Heard good things about the first episode, will sort it on 4oD before the next one's on. Borgen is my current poison!
Not something that I would usually be drawn to either, but don't let that put you off. There's the best, most realistic and funniest sex scene ever filmed in the first episode which is about as far away from 'sacred graphic novels' as you can get.
Kill List, now that is one weird film. I would say it's like a film of two halves; the first half is really good and quite intense at times whereas the second half is just utter gash. Had the potential to be a pretty good film but the plot just fell apart.
Yes - that was good as well. There is a British/French remake being made, not sure how that will work using channel tunnel. And a US/Mexico version! I'm a big fan of The West Wing and Borgen reminds me a lot of that.
I thought it was trying too hard to be weird and/or unsettle the viewer, to the extent that when the ending came I wasn't particularly blindsided by the 'shocking twist', more just relieved it was all over. Whoever made it was obviously a fan of 'The Wicker Man'. 'In Bruges' did offbeat so much better, I could watch that once a week and still enjoy it just as much.
Completely agree about 'In Bruges', it's an excellent film although the twist at the end of it was a little bit obvious.
Going to give this a go tonight, thanks for the heads up! On a side not, is anyone watching ripper street? I'm 3 episodes in now, enjoyed it so far
Just watched it. Thought it was excellent, already I'm hooked. Totally agree about that sex scene too, very funny
