    David Flitcroft tells me he's spoken to Jason Scotland about a move to #BarnsleyFC. He's hoping to convince him to move to Oakwell.


    Matthieu Manset lacking fitness at the moment. No timescale placed on his trial at #BarnsleyFC but would only be a short term deal.


    Stephen Dawson could be out for 6-8 weeks. David Flitcroft would like to sign a midfielder on loan as cover. #BarnsleyFC


    David Flitcroft says John Stones is worth £3m and offers for the player so far have been derisory. Any deal would include a loan return.

    I'd be looking for £3 million up front, with £1.5 million for add ons.

    Really not convinced by Jason Scotland, but at least he's got some pedigree I suppose.

    im a bit miffed about this 3m being spouted. why dont we just keep it under wraps and lets see if a bidding war ensues. might just get more than 3m that way.

    going to the press and telling everyone what he's worth/what we want puts a cap on the price.

    Scotland is the type of player we need, but how fit is he? How many minutes has he had recently? He is an experienced and, sometimes, prolific goalscorer, so fits our needs nicely. I would think to seek him on loan until the end of the season. I also rate O'Grady, although he would duplicate Harewood's style. If we get both of these in on loan, than would be great, but we have a pressing need for a robust central defender too. It sounds as though possibilities may be developing.

    Is it a clamour? Seems like more of a 'well it's the best of a bad bunch' response to me. It's a near impossible task for Flicker to bring proper quality in right now.

    really hope we don't waste money on a midfielder in place of dawson - we have Bobby for gods sake! would like a creative midfielder like a hammill/butts tho

    Forget loans.

    How many loan players have we had who will put a shift in like our own player's have over the last few weeks?

    Get some signings in on 18 month contracts with safeguards if we go down.

    we have a creative player hes got Mellis, and you could play RNL in there.
    We dont have anyone who can do what Dawson does.
