Well it didn't last long. The factory's biggest order is for Blockbuster. They went bust. Which leaves the factory now struggling. And my future there is in limbo. So I'm probably going to move back to Bradford with my girlfriend. Life, eh? Bloody annoying at times. But these things are sent to test us, and with God's guiding hand we can overcome them...
Wrong DNA, too much layering, hard working within tight and restrictive budgets? Chin up and lets have some positivity YT thar beginning to sarnd like KHiller.
No slight on Barnsley as I love my town, but I'm quite relieved in a way as I preferred it in Bradford for a variety of reasons. I'm still working for the time being but as you may imagine I'm probably best off not naming the company in case someone gets wind of what I've said etc. Cheers people. Onwards and upwards, like BFC.
Sorry to hear that, mate Hopefully, your company finds other customers to make up some of the short fall from Blockbusters.
Re: Sorry to hear that, mate For the benefit of some cracking colleagues I hope that's the case, Kev. But personally, this event has probably helped me to kick on with what I really want which is to be with my other half permanently and so we can now get that in motion and hopefully I'll find something over that way so far as employment goes. Cheers though big man.
I worked for a company who had all their eggs in one basket but they refused to accept that the company may pull the plug on us as a supplier...and they did. Luckily that was pre-recession so finding something else was relatively easy. What does your company actually supply to Blockbuster? I'm sure they'll be working hard to replace them with another customer.
Sorry to hear that YT, you always come across as a top bloke. Good luck mate I genuinely hope things work out for you.
Well if you were going to choose to lose a customer out of all those it would be Blockbuster! I wouldn't worry pal.
Biggest orders by a mile were from BB though. Others are not as big. But as I say, I'm off anyway, this just gave me the impetus.
Judging by the eloquent stuff you post on the interweb whitey, I'm sure if you carry that into interviews, you'll be find something else easily.
Life has a habit of kicking us in the arse Andy. But it can turn around just as easy. I've made more money since leaving the V&A that when I was there, now I'm talking to them about going back as a consultant at £250 a day. Daft! I never had a job in Barnsley, couldn't get one and buggered off over 20 years ago. No regrets, did stuff I would never have done at home. Cities do offer more opportunities and I hope Bradford suits you. You are not too far from the 'Well either. Good luck mate!
