But his development has to continue, The Academy coaches no longer coach him. Choose how much natural talent he has, he still needs the coaching/mentoring to move on to the next level and the next etc.

i'm genuinely baffled how any barnsley fan could see bobby hassell as anything other than a barnsley legend. after neil redfearn, i can't think of a bigger one in the last 20 years. just my opinion

If a player stays at a club for 9 years it can be for many different things.

If your a Man U Real Madrid Barcelona then it's because your a very very good player.

If you stay at a club for 9 years at most others it's because you aren't good enough to be at a better club. If stones stays at the club for 9 years does that make him good or a good person? In my opinion it makes him lack ambition to be the best he can be.

so just to clarify. are you suggesting that hassell's time with the Club is due him not being good enough to play for a 'better' club. Is that what you're saying?

    Yes.

I've got know problem with players trying to move on to better themselves. RVT was too good for barnsley and the championship so he ended up moving. Does that make him a worse person? NO

Re: It's wasn't like he had a hard act to follow was it?

You've managed to spell Hassell incorrectly twice and in different ways, good effort :p

So you think Messi would have been better if he stayed at newells or Ronaldo at sporting Lisbon?

That's rubbish. They've both showed they are greats by moving on and making themselves the best they can be.

No. If you look at the posts above you will see it was against another.

Hassell's good because he's stayed at a club 9 years.

That RVP can't be good because he's only been at the club 7 month.

I think Philip , you are losing the plot! Not one single person has said that Hassell is good because he has stayed for 9 years, only you has said it, you are yet again turning everything into a Hassell is ***** rant.
Enough of it please, if you disagree with someone, just accept that you and they do not agree, then move on, not go over and over and over YOUR BIASED VIEWS !!!

You're forgetting that Sir Bobbaldinho has had his suitors over the years and has stayed with us regardless. He has shown us loyalty. Nobody is suggesting he could have moved on and played Champions League football but give the lad some credit, he has performed admirably for us over the 9, nine, yes 9 years he has been with us. Legend.

No, what your trying to say is that people who stay at 1 club for a long time do it because there not very good, unlees they play for man utd, like matt le tissier for example

Bobby helped get us promoted from the third tier and has kept us here since. He fulfilled his relative potential and has had a good career. His efforts and service are appreciated by the supporters. If he is earning well now then good luck to him, stay with any firm that long and you will benefit. He has been at this club much longer than you and you should show some respect.

This is the hardest season we have had back in the Championship and it happens that Bobby has hardly played. What does that tell you Hemsworth?

Also.... Don't ask me why, but I am typing in purple latex conservation gloves, which isn't easy. So do not make me repeat myself!!!

    Interestingly

Matt le tiss turned down Chelsea more than once and a small fortune in wages to remain at a club that's still very close to his heart.

Hassell turned down big money to move to some of our more illustrious neighbours to remain at a club that's close to his heart.

Dean lewington at mk dons ...

Part of a dying breed in money obsessed football.

Hmmm. A very immature response. Reasons for staying/going can be very complex- its not as simple as you make out.
