Should Millwall have had a penalty towards the end? From where I was sat it looked a certain shove in the back by (Perkins) I think although I couldn't see if it was inside the area or not.
Definitely inside the box, looked a nailed on pen to me. Also thought there was a 'tangling' a little earlier with Kennedy (?) as last man against their srtiker, which if the ref had felt was a foul would have resulted in a red card. All in all, the ref had a blinder.
Looked like one for me. You could tell by the mumblings around the ground. Silly thing to do as well, he was going away from goal. Could have set up a nervy last 15 minutes.
Perkins lightly touched the guys back, who jumped forward and fell like he'd been hit by a truck. Think the ref saw it more of a dive than a push.
Best referee we've had in a while, particularly in the 2nd half. Let the game flow and let all the nothing challenges which some referee's deem to be a foul these days go. Couldn't see if it was in the box from where I was but was certainly a foul.
Re: Certainly looked like one to me, mate I think that is what is most frustrating. But nevermind, we got away with it. I thought it was Kennedy at first, but then seem to remember seeing Perkins making his way back from that area, but can't really remember. As for Kennedy, he dropped a few clangers, but that aside I thought he looked very good.
Looked it to us. In fact I'm surprised the crowd reaction didn't persuade the ref to give it, collective intake of breath. I looked at the ref and then the linesman. He let a lot go last night did the ref. 2 or 3 things we got away with that had it been the other way round I'd have been screaming for the decision.
It was a certain penalty in my eyes, an absolutely ridiculous push from Kennedy (deffo Kennedy, not Perkins) as the player was going nowhere. It could have changed the game too as there was still around 10mins plus injury time remaining. They say that these decisions even themselves out - but I personally think that is the first one this season (from memory) that has really gone in our favour, after umpteen dubious decisions against us. Hopefully our luck is changing, right on cue too.
Deffo pen......but Millwall had done a couple of blatant dives in and aorund penalty area whihc had probably swayed the referee's mind-set. Millwall no. 14 (???) being a fookin lunatic chasing ref full length of pitch (ESL side) when he didn't get a decision......Mellis then took the pi55 out of him all rest of game......quite funny from where I was sat.
I laughed my ***** off at that. When he set off he was fuming, but the ref was too far away to moan at. We were on a breakaway so the ref was hurtling down the field towards the Ponty. The guy went charging after him, but didn't gain ground. All the time his enthusiasm for moaning was wilting. Eventually he got within dissenting range of the ref, but by that time his will to complain had just about gone, so he found himself confronting the ref but with nowt to say. He made a right idiot of himself and as you say got the **** taken out of him. Side splitting.
