Like I've said previuosly - I haven't been to any matches lately due to various reasons.
However, what I'm reading on here and elsewhere is that the team has been transformed and are playing great.

    Why is this ???

All along, I and a few others could see that players like Kennedy, Golbourne and McNulty were decent footballers. Although they often got slated on here.
My only concern was that Dagnall and Harewood wernt goal scorers and we needed at least one tall commanding centre back.
But Barnsley have started winning matches without these other players.

    So whats changed ???

Is it because Flicker was getting them playing well on the training pitch but input and directions from KH was then confusing the players???
Or was it more psycological interference from KH regarding his sometimes eccentric interviews in the media; comments like "I'm shopping at Aldi"???

    Same players.........different team
    Its interesting........but what's caused this???

It's more that we're playing a bit more percentage football. Not as much passing between the back 4 putting us under pressure.

Biggest change is we're playing with more tempo. We've always been good at closing down and working hard.

    This is probably an over-simplification...

The nearer the ball is to the opposition goal, the more likely it is to go in it.

Correct. Glad you've seen it. We've dropped the insistence on possesion for possesions sake

Alan: 'I loved that phrase you used, it was very very clever, where you said, ah, "revolution not evolution."

Tony Hayers: 'No, it was the opposite, "evolution, not revolution."

Alan: 'Well, whatever. (stutters) Because that is me, because I evolve, but I don't...erm, revolve.'

I still absolutely think it is passing possession football, just more incisive. Like O'Driscoll's Forest against us earlier in the season. And Harewood has made a diference. We have a focal point where the ball sticks. Pre-Christmas the defence were passing it to each other because every time it went forward we'd lose it

but for some wayward finishing, we'd have tonked L**ds and Millwall just like Birmingham.

    Agree 100%.

Defenders have cut out mistakes, our strikers have started playing. Simple innit?

    We're still playing passing football

But it's at a higher tempo, with higher energy levels. The change in formation to 3-5-2 has given greater balance and solidity to the defence. Harewood & Dagnall's performances especially have gone up a few gears meaning we're causing the opposition no end of problems. If we can continue this form , I think you'll like what you see once you're fit and healthy enough to attend.

agree with all of the above. the penny dropped almost immediately for the leeds game, hence the instant swing of opinion on flicker and the clamour to give him the job.

i felt flicker's yorkshire post was incredibly diplomatic. keef probably won't be happy though. he as much as said 'we were $hit for 18 months under hill, the fans were right and i knew instantly which changes i needed to make'

we will eventually get matched. teams are probably still not quite woken up to the fundamental change in our formation. but right now i feel we could give anybody in this league a run for their money.

flicker is doing and saying everything right so far. job well done

Yes I did..........and thats why I'm asking the question - whats changed?
Because the players that Hill brought in are still there.
I always liked the players (including Wiseman) but many didnt.

Could it be that KH had a lot of bad luck.........e.g. injuries at the start of the season which caused the team to end up in a rut.

Same players, same team coach........different team.

I think Keith Hill wasnt far off creating a really good team..........but obviuosly something stopped him from doing that.......what was it???

The key there - it's when teams do wake up. It's exactly what happened to us from October onwards. We looked solid and doing well with that diamond formation and then we got found out and didn't adapt.

We need our best players to stay in form. Dagnall, Harewood, Cranie, Perkins & Mellis/O'Brien.

Looking back, Ipswich at home was a key game. It's been years since I'd felt such a positive atmosphere at Oakwell. The fans were absolutely buzzing on the back of the Birmingham game and the players had a real swagger. We didn't play great but still should of won. I think if we had won the momentum would have continued. As it was we'd only drawn at home to second bottom and it felt deflated. Then three days later we lost to Peterboro. And all optimism just seemed to disappear, Hill panicked, we got key injuries, and absolutely zero luck

You are one hell of a sensationalist poster Nudger. You have not been down to watch us recently because you have had one or two things on, then you are Ill Then you are bringing Hill into the equation. Get down to Oakwell mate, and draw your own conclusions
Do not make excuses about not coming, make your decisions first hand not through other people's eyes. You are perfectly entitled to stay away, but not to roll it round for genuine posters. Ps we are playing well because Flicker is his own man and him and the players are one team. Something Hill could not comprehend.
