he will be missed but to me a great bit of buisness. looks at the facts, we're in the bottom 3, a home grown player, and £3million transfer. i Just hope we sign a few players too today, rather than rely on loan deals.
It's a decent price compared to what we normally flog our best assets for, but not when you see what other clubs get for their youngsters who are of similar talent, position etc
Tut tut. This board is all about moaning. You have to find a negative in everything that happens and moan
Personally I think its derisory when considering his potential. If he played for another club, Leeds or Sheffield United for example, I reckon they’d have got over £5m plus add-ons for him.
Mate, but that's all it is. Potential. Other players in that position have played over 100 games at this level and still gone for similar money to Stones. It's a risk for Wigan paying that money after 25 pro games. It's a risk for us not to sell, too.
Depends how the £3 million is split, £3 million up front? £1 million up front? we agreed some silly add on about Butterfield playing for England didnt we? he won't be a full England international whilst l've got a hole in my arse. He may play in the prem one day if he gets back to his form last season but l don't think he'll be worrying the England squad at the next World Cup.
Absolutely appalled at this, once again ripped out the heart of a massive shift in feel good factor!! 3 million is a joke!! When will people and the club see just how good this kid is ffs!!
Won't look like such a good price when Wigan sell him for £10m+ to a top four club in 12-24 months.. The 'Board' are so short-sighted its unreal
Just as a matter of comparison, Ashley Ward (record outbound transfer) went for £4.5m. I dare say addons could take the total up to £4m+ What im more interested in is how much of it we have to spend and can we buy a replacement/additional players?
That's the way it works with all players, Stones is no different. If he plays well at Premiership level his value goes up. However a 10% sell on fee and £1m of that comes back to us.
the club wont let flicker sign anyone permy imho they obviously didnt want him as permy manager so they dont trust him yet - which is bonkers. Everything he has done and said since becoming the manager has been awesome and long may it continue.
