Agree with OP. Sooner we have owners in with financial clout and an interest in running the club the sooner we can start progressing and refusing below-par offers for our better players

Whilst I don't want Stones to leave, last week lots of postings on this board stated we must not accept less than 3 million. Now rumours that this is the figure we have accepted, up roar starts.

Will stress again, I personally don't believe there is any benefit in selling him now - His value is only going one way even if we go down.

Rowing can **** reight off! Yet again we've been let down by this absolute moron! However I still have a lot of respect for Cryne... End of day he still saved our arses! Just wish he'd see sense and find someone better that Rowing.

That was clearly a MINIMUM - and with a view to cashing in during the summer at that. Is there any need for another January fire sale?

'Do everyone a favour and FOOOK OFF'

Don't count me in as 'everyone' I have my own opinion. There isn't 1% of me that thinks "i'm going in to work today to try and make an almighty ****-up". If Don thinks it's the right decision from the clubs point of view then he'll do it. He may have been told to accept by PC anyway. Don doesn't half get some stick - and we may never know just how much/little control he has in such situations.

And we have no official announcement on price, we may never. For all we know it may be £3m up front with a further £2m in add-on's plus a substantial sell on fee. Until then people are willing to p!ss and moan about something they have no knowledge on.

Every player has his price. We don't know how much we have accepted. I'm very disappointed he's been sold, but I can't possibly comment on the fee because we don't know what the fee is and how it is structured.

It is enough to pay Cryne his money back. Think it is bad business. We are good at bad business. The sooner they scrap the January transfer window the better. Wealthy clubs bo!!oking us up again. When are we going to learn. Here we are in a battle to stay up, got the momentum going, then we **** it up again. Our upper management should be ashamed, but I doubt it. They could not organise a piss up in a brewery

While i'm disapointed the bid was accepted it's hardly his fault. He doesn't own the club you know. If the Cryne family weren't happy with the bid they could have stopped it being accepted. They are people above Don in the food chain.

I can't be bothered to address every single post individually, so will bang it all in here.

I am not the only one who wants both PC and Don to leave (Fair enough, not everyone), but their are plenty.

3 million might look good to some. but for the following:

In our last meeting, I asked Don how are we fairing this season on breaking even. His response was, if we beat Burnley in the cup we would achieve it. So their.

Since we have sacked the manager who according to some was on 200k a year. His severence I am sure will be covered by the beating of hull and playing of MK Dons I am sure.

So in my mind we will still break even this year.

We have a number of players who will be out of contract at the end of the season. Depending on what league we are in come the end of the season will dictate whether we will need another butterfield fee, or 3/4 Million to have the same budget next season.

Stones was on a 3 year contract.

We DID NOT need to sell in this window and had no pressure to.

We have been on a fantastic run recently with a decent formation, of which Stones was a pivitol point in that playing the wing back.

WHo do we have has a replacement? or what could we buy that is tried and tested either at this level or in thisi formation?

By keeping stones and rejecting bids (unless it was real silly money) we would have enhanced our chances of staying up, which to me now looks like something we will find hard to achieve by selling someone of such a talent.

At the end of the season, then yes, review the situation, but whilst we are in a relagation fight, we need every player possible (with the ability and passion) to try and keep us in here.

3 million deal now is so short sighted it is unreal.

Whilst Don may not have been the "Deciding factor" I am more livid now than at the timing of this (Especially as the club made it well known they didn't want to deal at the last minute).

Whilst we are "living within our means", without any other business revenue (which we all agree is a little bit short in coming), we will soon be living within our means in the bottom division.

This Stinks, and unless they can pull a rabit out of the hat and bring in a couple of PROVEN and BUMS ON SEATS players I will not back down on what I think with the running of this club. Its *****. If that makes me a drama queen then I am

Cryne has to be happy, it pays some of the debt back to him, which did us a favour. It is just the wrong time and wrong player to do it. Long term not quick fix

i said to Gally after 1st BBS meeting with Don

that after fan pressure made the club up the contracts of stones and Digger we now had to make the club think big in terms of their sell on fees. At the moment the club think 3m is massive! We should have been talking John up as a 6m+ pound player weeks ago. Once the word is out about their value that sets a level of expectation and clubs wouldnt come knocking trying to get players on the cheap.

Unfortunately what i said looks like coming true!

We need some football heads in at the club that have been directors/involved with a premier league club and someone who can play hard ball at the negotiating table.

The John Stones come along once in a blue moon at BFC and we need to capitalise on them when it happens.

HIggy went for 4 million didnt he? And did he not have 1 or 2 seasons left in him. Make Stones 3m look paultry when you can see where he is heading.

I can completely understand your frustration mate. I think you should have started the thread off with this post though. It's probably the best post on this BBS in the case for not selling Stones. Very well reasoned and really passionate. But I thought the opening post was bit much without this to back it up.

I'm probably just being a big Jessie though.

I've defended them both in the past (Don mostly) but this is a truly **** deal for Stones. The club is going absolutely nowhere while ever we continue operating in this manner. Today is another low point in our long tradition of transfer muggings.

    i don't.

Agree with pretty much everything apart from the title - bit harsh. But we need someone in there with the financial and negotiating skills with a bigger mindset than a corner shop.

What planet are you living on? Why would anyone want to invest in our club and which players have we undersold in the past? Hammill-Howard- Buttercup? Yeah. Where are they now.

All too easy to wish PC and DR away - the queues to take over go right down to Oakwell Sandwich. Unless we want Sean Lewis (or whatever he was called) back. Or maybe Portsmouth's owners wanting another club to screw.
