Who had even heard of John Stones this time last year?'
( Hemmsy I know you had)

point being we have developed an unheard of player to a Premiership player in less than 12 months. Yes, some of that is down to his talent, but it's also down to our club. Well dine to all concerned.

Well done up to the point of flogging him for probably less than 3 million to a top six prem side, pants down, arse raped, wool over the eyes of barnsley fans, no chance of money being reinvested in squad, nuff said!

That’s why I am so disappointed Fired. We had a lad who had obvious talent in abundance, so much so that he's gone from youth football to first team superstar and on to premier league player in such a short time. We could see his talent and Everton can see his talent and that's why they have signed him - not for what he's done but for what he will do. Players like Stones come along once in a generation and we have let him go on the cheap; I honestly believe that in another year he'd have been valued at £7m and maybe more. I just hope we had the good sense to insert some very good add-ons and most importantly a hefty sell on fee because if he goes to the very top we deserve a share in the windfall.

I disagree with that, his development hasn't just been this season it has been years of hard work. I was watching Stones in the academy while Keith Hill was learning to swim himself never mind their sidney. This season has only seen Stones' confidence grow, I don't think his ability is any higher than it was 12 months ago really, it was all already there. Not taking anything away from his development this season but personally I think the hard work was done long before and this season has simply been the one where we have seen the rewards.

Me, only because I was in the same year him at school and played against him at junior level, though. That's my claim to fame..

I wonder how disappointed all those at the club who helped Stones' development feel at the crappy deal we've got. Let down by the clowns no doubt.

I realise his development started as a kid, but what I'm pointing out is thatmost of the folks throwing a hissy fit about the deal, didn't even know he existed this time last year.... and we still don't know the terms of the deal.
Sad to see him go, but I'd rather be in this situation than churn out duds that end up playing non league, and five years later are in Chennels watching it.on Sky

Isn't that the case with all newly emerged players.
