I understand we made a small profit for the last accounting period thus you can argue we don't need to sell John Stones but what is the amount in liabilities (loans etc) that are owed by the club to the owner? I am assuming that Cryne will have bank rolled some of our previous losses from past seasons and I would be surprised if he had written all of this off thus isn't this just a case of him getting some return on his previous investment?

I'm not an expert on accountancy (poor - I know for some who has worked in Finance for the last 6 years) so if any one can advise or correct my logic then it would be more than welcome.

Apparently if PC sells the club he only wants his cash back that he loaned the club if we get promoted to the premier league (according to the don).

So I dont think hes in any rush for his cash back

That's why we can't sell the club.

The truth is we spend what we earn.

Our biggest income stream is from ticket sales. So while ever we have <8k turning up for a home game we'll either not spend owt or rely and have an urge to accept offers for our players.

You said yourself a while ago we don't have the support levels for the Championship any more...

But we had in Stones the chance to sort our future for years to come

by showing our arse we've lost that chance now and I doubt there will be another for many many years. Flitcroft wont see a penny of that money, its already assigned to another column in the spreadsheet.

Re: But we had in Stones the chance to sort our future for years to come

Honestly believe that we're not in a position to risk turning down good money for players and that's what it sounds like we've got. It's not great but reasonable.

You just never know what could happen. He's a great player but at 18 there's still a hell of a lot that can go wrong. Safe option for us to sell now and transfer that risk too. Maybe the next one that comes along we don't have to because this Stones cash is sitting pretty in the bank

It's not exciting but it's solid financial management considering our situation.
