as it will not get spent on the team

Who's gonna fill his boots at right back Don (PC)?

Because whomever it is, its highly unlikely they will be as good.

    Significantly weaker.

Its pants and I'm off to bed.

Totally fecked off with BFC as it stands.

    Eyup fella,

I'll fill in at rightback ( I know I'm left footed!! and nearer 50 than 40)

Thing is relegation beckons anyway and whatever money we can get in will help..............not a good line but reality.....chin up

Jim O'Brien, Rory Delap or Scott Wiseman, none of which will keep us up or send us down.

The other thing about this is what it communicates to RNL, Danny Rose, Digby et al. Will they feel that it's all about playing well and developing their reputation - to get themselves a move away as soon as possible?

I don't see how he'd be any weaker than Delap when Delap has just come back from injury and hasn't played in months.

I'm not getting at Delap here, I'm defending Hassell.

I beg to differ...you obviously didn't go to Hull where Hassell was the best player on the field.

Yes............its their career they are developing, short and as well paid as possible, simple as that. Good luck to all of them as well.

Whilst I agree that Hassell is not young...I can also say he is unlikely to make many mistakes and will not let us down

If next season is his 10th then not to give him recognition in some form or other given his service to this club in my mind would be disrespectful

Thompson wasn't the quickest but, as has already been said in a previous thread, he wasn't that bad at wing back.

Is that what it's about then? We're nothing more than a vehicle for young lads to break into football so that they can leave at the first opportunity? Shouldn't the aim be to build more than that? To build towards something that means that want to stay for longer and be part of something? What about when Watson, Eaden, Moses, Morgan, Liddell etc were a core part of the team - what would've happened then if within 30 games of breaking into the first team we sold them on. Surely the strategy has to be about building something and not just about selling any youngster with any value?

He played at centre half, not wing back. Massive difference.

But we didn't sell them on as soon as the broke into the first team. They were part of what we built....

No ... we sold them as soon as someone wanted them..............be that after 2 games 20 games or 200.........thats football and I don't mean Barnsley.....Becks, Ronaldo, Fabregas, Ba, Torres, Carroll, etc etc etc sold when someone with the right money wants them
