We only need to make up four points and we're a better side than our position suggests IMO. Our biggest weakness has gone, were playing with pride and passion and there is a real team spirit under Flicker. We can do it.
Failing is a bit strong,if we were 10pts or so adrift yes,as it is just a couple of games doing better than the others down there and it becomes a real dogfight, and I think our lads could well be up for it more than the others, especially the ones who think they should be big hitters in this division.
Teams at the bottom end lose more than they win....thats why they are there If your team wins a few on the bounce they WILL go up the table. Its harder at the top hoping for a rivals loss.
yep. like wednesday and bristol. everyone round us is scrapping like hell. we need others to get dragged into it. ipswich, wolves, birmingham, etc. but if anyone can, flicker can
But its not out of our hands - its firmly IN our hands now mate. If we win our game in hand over wolves and beat them at Oakwell, we're out of the relegation zone. We're in total control. It goes without saying, if we continue for the remainder of the season as we have done in January (very tall order but plausible such is the amazing team spirit at the moment) we will stay up. Easily. For me the main thing is we continue to go for WINS not draws and most importantly the whole club is as one. So if we lose a couple, which we will, the team are supported and driven on. This will be fundamental to us staying up.
I predicted last week that we would go into the Huddersfield game on 49 points, which I still stand by. I reckon 52 would definitely keep us up, 50 we would be in with a shout, maybe. Any less and I think we'd be relying on Birmingham going into admin.
i have a feeling we will rue delaying the sacking of hill, but if flicker keeps the team playing as they are you never know and if we do go down with the spirit we currently have under him i will be much more confident of a promotion push next season with flicker in charge
I supported him pretty much until the bitter end (finally started to waver after the Fowls disaster), but in hindsight he should have gone a month earlier - even a reasonably poor return from the run of home matches against our relegation rivals would have seen us well out of drop zone by now, but instead it was absolutely abysmal, hence the pickle we find ourselves in. Still reckon we can get out of it, but it's going to be close.
Well, there's always someone sucked in from mid-table and it's rare when there is no recent ex-Premier League side in the mix, though I'd have predicted Bolton not so long ago. However, if we turn them over at Oakwell then they could be in real bother.
