sorry but for me its just the Gay movement trying to draw attention to themselves. There are scores upon scores of heterosexual couples who have chosen not to "Tie the Knot" as it were. They do not seem to make a song and dance about it.Sorry I just see it as the Homosexuals "banging the Gong" of self pity over and over. If they want to have same sex relations then thats fine get on with it. But for pity sakes I wish they would give it a rest with the self pity cries all the time.
Any group in the history of the world that's been subjected to inequality has shouted about it. That's how things change.
I think the vast majority of MP"s who voted weren't gay. Straight couples have the option whether to marry or not, gays don't!
well here is the bible, Leviticus 18 http://biblia.com/bible/esv/Le18.22 (click on more) thats why the church should refuse them. Its that simple. If they relent then they may as well just say "heyyyyy that Satan guy, not that bad really Huh?"
cannot argue with you. I have no worries about them taking up a ceremony in the local Registrars to be joined in such a union.BUT why should the church have to accept it, thats where I totaly disagree.
Re: well here is the bible, Leviticus 18 Apparently the Bible says that if a woman is raped she has to marry the rapist. Take what you wish from it like.
Re: so why is there such an issue Churches have the right to marry who they want. It's part of the legislation. No religious group is being forced to marry anyone they don't want to. Too many people are jumping to conclusions without actually reading what is being proposed.
Re: so why is there such an issue As far as i am concerned, marriage is a term reserved for union between man and woman. If 2 men or 2 women want exactly the same thing then fine, but call it something else - it isnt a marriage.
Hang on a minute If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT)
Re: Hang on a minute And cue one of my favourite extracts from my all time favourite TV series. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSXJzybEeJM
If it said something similar in the Koran (sp) then we would all have to accept that as to force it on them would be an infringement of their human rights. There'd be planes crashing into the Commons quicker than you could say "chase me".
In your opinion. Actually the Islamic religion is also against homosexuality so that's pissed on your bonfire!
That's the point I was making. It would be an infringement of their legal rights as a Muslim to accept homosexual marriage.
