Have to hold my hands up and say I didn't. I viewed him as half the problem of the awful f@cking mess we got into under Hill.

Have to say, he's everything Hill wasn't. Does his nut on the touch line, changes formation, doesn't play McNulty or Wiseman, makes substitutions. Comes over to the fans and applauds us, doesn't talk Shiite to the media. . . . . Shall I carry on?

Have to say I have been converted over the past 5/6 weeks.

    Good on you Flicker.

P.s. what a bloody great result today, still buzzing and I've been home an hour.

McNulty has been playing, he was playing before he got injured.

Me for the same reason as else. Don't worry though, he'll slip up soon and when he does I'll be waiting. I'm like a coiled spring

I'm with you. I was vehemently against it. I'm the first to admit I was completely wrong. In fairness, a complete stroke of providence to find ourselves where we are. And Drizzle at Brizzle is showing his quality, to be fair.

But man, what a stroke of luck getting Flicker instead of Butch...

My mistake. He played against Leeds, didn't he? Must've forgotten about him. Much prefer Kennedy.

I was pro-Flicker since the Peterborough game. Put my money where my mouth is, and had £20 on him to be next manager.

    Double-chuffed.

Me for one. But once he was in the job I felt I had to back him.

The question now is will he be here at the start of next season because this guy is good.
He has made the necessary tweaks to the team and what a difference it has made.

I didn't until after the Leeds game when I did. Funny old game and I'm delighted to say I was wrong!

I wasn't keen on Butcher or O'Driscoll and wasn't too fussed when they turned us down. Despite how poor we were I always got the sense that the players were still trying for Hillcroft. Yes we were poor, but ive seen Barnsley teams (and others) fold under a lesser set of bad results than the terrible run we had been on.

That told me that somewhere, someone was having a good effect on them in difficult circumstances and when the players said they wanted him it told me that it was probably him who was keeping them going. Of course it didn't mean he'd make a good manager and it was a risk. So I was in the 'not over the moon but wiling to give him a go' category.

What's impressed me most is his positivity and inclusiveness. Fans, backroom staff, people in the office - all getting a mention for their part in the turnaround. This is excellent management because he not only has the players pulling in the right direction, but everyone at the club. Without even going down to the ground during the week, you can sense that it's a very different place than it was a few weeks ago. Question is, can he be as tactically astute when he has to change things round and things get tough? It certainly helps the players believe in him and what he might want them to do. There wont be anyone in that dressing room questioning what he suggests, and that's half the battle.

Interesting reading Twitter - the players are having a blast at the moment, and you can't fault them. Long may it continue!

Not trying to jump on a told you so bandwagon,I was very pleased when he got the chance to do the job for Peterborough and Leeds, despite a lot of people saying he was part of the problem,I felt that Hill wasn't far away from getting it right and as much as anything else we needed a change of luck, and Flickers started benefiting from the rub of the green(and I'm not knocking him for that) that we hadn't had at any stage I can think of this season. The main change is 3-5-2 and at the Lamp room do the other night Flicker said that he and Keith had decided to use it,but Hill wanted to leave it till the International break to give the lads a clear 2 weeks of training practise with the new system, but got the sack before he could bring it in.......having said all that Flicker comes across much better, without the whiff of b*****t in the air,and the results for me cannot be argued with,at some point we are going to lose a game and I just hope people keep the faith and the negativity doesn't creep in again.

Tbf I don't think the fans will, it was more Hills put down of the fans hopes and the endless bull that did for him.
The fans have taken to flicker and IMO it will take a lot to disengage that

As lime most, I thought he was part of the problem, but I think we may have accidently got the best person in charge. The players know him and you can see that every one of the starting 11 and the subsequent that come on are giving everything for the cause.

I'll just say this humble pie tastes nice!!

I, along with 99% of Barnsley fans didn't want Flitcroft prior to the Peterborough game. However he made significant changes and we put on a good display and deserved to win. After that i was toying with the idea, but still would have been delighted with SOD. However the miserable ****** turned us down (good!) and we went in for Butcher. I was very skeptical about Butcher but would have given him a chance. He turned us down as well, so at that point i was 100% behind Flitcroft as we notched a solid win over Burnley and looked to tighten up at the back somewhat with the new formation. I was blown away with the Leeds performance, and was chuffed he got the job, and i am delighted he has made the step up and looks to be a fantastic young manager who i hope we can hold onto should he bring us success, first by keeping us in the division. Any FA cup run is just a bonus.

I have to admit that I was calling for him to go after the Peterborough game but after the Leeds game I was convinced he was the right man. There are times when I love eating humble pie.
