"Turnover of 2bn euros (£1.68m) for the first time in its 50-year history" No wonder the export market is so tough with such a strong pound.
Or man, the boards missed your funnyness Who did they get beat by in the Euro's ? Who did Chelsea beat in Germany last season? How many Champions league medals have they won in the last 10 years?
I'll use my own life experiences mate, I was at a Bundesliga match last weekend and the atmosphere/beer/food/leg room/ticket price/whole experience wins hands down in my opinion.
On the attendance side of things it's probably worth noting that Germany's population is about 30m more than England's and they don't have the same depth to their league as a whole.
correct conan. We have over 100 pro teams. Our Football league systems 92 teams. We have cities like Manchester that have 2 massive clubs but teams like Oldham and Bury still get 1000's every week.
Totally irrelevant questions to this debate. If we (in England) as supporters could choose between our setup, and the German setup, I'd be willing to bet that I'd be sat with the vast majority in wanting the Bundesliga approach. Certainly as regards the pricing/standing option/alcohol etc. The fact that it's cheaper to watch most Bundesliga games than it is to watch bloody Doncaster Rovers says it all.
Serious question phil.... Do you think it is acceptable that out of the 92 league clubs the overwhelming majority are haemorrhaging money and are in a serious level of indebtedness
not sure fella. I think most teams in germany are too. If i was to put my head of the block and say who i trust the most it would be the brit banks. German banks have links across Europe and they are connected to the Spanish banks. If i was a Germanfan that would scare me meaning that any loans they have with the banks (football clubs) could be asked to be in soon. Betis could lose a lot of there players in the summer and the english clubs are hovering. Of course i think the clubs should have less debt or lose less year on year. A lot of clubs will be affected next season when only Leicester was this season. I'm a Barnsley fan like you and this makes the most sense for barnsley.
http://www.forbes.com/teams/bayern-munich/ According to that, Bayern have a 13% debt/value percentage.
Nobody says about Barca debt at 54%. Manchester and Aresnal have a debt % in the low 30's. With the Tv revenue going up that fine. It says Chelseas have a 22% debt to value. Thats really good to say what theyve spent in recent years.
