The plan is to build three apartment blocks in the lower half of the carpark (shown in red) to be accessed off grove street and to replace the lost carpark with a new one on the grassed/wildlife area next to the academy (shown in blue) with access to the new car park via beaver court (shown in yellow)

The plan to access via beaver court is absolute madness as that road is a narrow single lane, low density access road that needs to remain open in the opposite direction on match days to allow vehicles into the council buildings. Adding an extra 194 vehicles (the proposed amount) to that road on matchdays is an absolutely stupid plan which could never ever work.

Not many clubs are built on as much land as BFC - might be a good time to start sweating some of these assets.

No dramas, get on the bus/train, park away from Oakwell, walk if possible, we do ok for car parking already.

this was going to happen years ago with a New access road onto pontifract road via the old barnsley brewery area and car parking facilities moved completely to the east side of the ground, which with a junction on pontifract road would make egress from the ground a lot easier than it is at present and away from residential area than the car park is now.

I thought that was the case before with a new road being built. The new plans though are to simply shift all the cars onto beaver court which I'm amazed they're even considering because it flies completely in the face of the clubs own statements regarding grove street when they said cars could no longer exit via the top exits because grove street couldnt handle it (grove street is a wider, straighter road than beaver court) and also against their own statement with regards beaver court being an essential emergency access road to the ground and therefore needing the least number of cars on it as possible

How so? It isn't the club who have applied for this planning permission, it is PC and the council who have and it is they who would benefit as they own the land not the club.

Get them built, help solve housing shortage, increased revenue. No clubs own as much land as us. Personally I wouldn't replace the car parking though and encourage public transport
