After years on the subs bench, it's time for leftie to display layering and the right d.n.a to step up to the plate.

He probably won't do well though, left is from aldi, right is from waitrose.

Sorry about the late reply to this thread, but for some reason I haven't been able to access the forum for 2 days!

Glad you're okay WorsbroughRed! Sometimes you can go into shock after something like this which can affect you emotionally for a time.

And I entirely agree with what you say - that people should wear seat belts! My next door neighbour is a traffic policeman and attended a RTA when a teenage girl hadn't worn a seatbelt. One minute she was laughing and joking with him, the next minute she was dead (of internal injuries or a heart attack brought on by internal bleeding, I think). And he had to go and inform her parents.

    Take care, mate.

    Cheers, pal.

I've always warn my seatbelt. It's something so simple that can easily save your life, or save you from causing serious injuries. If I hadn't had mine on yesterday I probably would have been seriously injured, don't want to think about what would have happened.

Goes down as another experience in my life anyway!

Often wondered what a bloody shock it would be if the airbag went off - Funnily enough it was only the other day I was reading about how you should sit with your chest at least 18 inches from the steering wheel because any closer and you risk serious injury or even death from the force of the impact of the airbag. I must admit, I'm not in a rush to test out the theory!

I had a collision with a car tonight. Unfortunately I was on a mountain bike.

Unsurprisingly i'm not feeling too clever.

It all happened so fast, just remember a bang and a big pain in my chest and my face hurt too.

Also the smell from whatever sets off the airbag is really strong, a lot of smoke too which I didn't know happened.

Considering how old the car was its made me a lot more confident about travelling in modern cars.

Also, it was pointed out by a traffic cop I saw on tv that, if you cross your hands when steering, you run the risk of a broken arm or punching yourself in the face when an airbag goes off. The I.A.M. method of doubled handed w@nking seems less geeky when you realise that.

I'm not too bad thanks, but I might have to miss the trip to MK unfortunately.

I was just riding on Wakefield Rd and someone came up behind me and knocked me off. Gave me the fright of my life.

I know of a lady who was in the passenger seat bending forward fiddling with her handbag when her lunatic boyfriend, who was one of my students, crashed the car. The air bag hit her and broke her back. I also met a guy on an IMI course on air bags who got burns on the insides of his fore arms as the propellant escapes from the air bag.

I know a lad who was in a crash and didn't have his seatbelt on, he went through the windscreen but lived. Bizarrely if he had his belt on he probably would have died because a fence post was impaled through the drivers seat, which obviously would have been through his chest too. I always wear mine but I always think of him.
