What a great question. Great question because almost the whole squad have raised their game. Probably only Dawson and Perkins were performing consistently under Keef. Under Flicker, so many to mention...but for me, special praise goes to Daggers, Kennedy & Etuhu. If I had to give it, would probably be Kelvin. He's gone from reserve team obscurity and the odd ineffective game on the wing, to our Yaya Toure. So much so, will be difficult for Daws to get back in.
Etuhu for me, since replacing Dawson he's been playing well.Shame about his injury yesterday, hope it isnt serious but looked like it.
I'm not sure I even want to single an individual, as big Marlon, daggers, etuhu look different players. Cranie has started looking like a good defender, he looked good in midfield for a couple of hill fixtures but didn't excel at the back, and Kennedy looks like a championship defender. (Ok he's made an error or two, I'll allow anyone a Mistake though and I reckon his head was with etuhu when bowditch ran through him yesterday). Steele was always class but looks ominously good ATM, the players on the bench look like coming on and effecting games too. They've all bought into what's been implemented which is a credit to them all. The difference is confidence. It's amazing how confidence can improve when your manager implements tactics and game plans that allow you to compete, and only asks you to work hard daily to be the best you can be. As opposed to referring to you as lower league substandard players to excuse your own ineptitude, as was the case before. They were bound to believe it, they heard it often enough. Now they're being told they're good. Which they are. The quality of flicker is that he knows that he can't allow them to either lose their confidence or let them become complacent. I've every faith in him and Percy passionfruit.
Always liked Marlon, he's a real trier and you can tell he genuinely cares, always coming over to the fans even after a loss! He's definitely the most improved player and I'm chuffed for him.
Aye, there is marked improvement in performance from most and a confidence and belief installed in all. Top man management from Flicker and his team, actions have always spoken louder than words. Lets hope this is kept up for our survival and that we dont ease off once we are out of the bottom 3 after Tuesday night.
Thinking about it logically it has to be Kennedy, he's come in from nowhere and done a great job (bar the goal yesterday obviously)
Ipswich at home? Looked like a fish out of water. To be fair to play a left footed player at right back wasn't clever, but that was the day stones came on for him after about an hour and changed the game.
