And the consensus is they're already in the semi-final. Twenty minutes and I couldn't find a single post that suggested we might make a decent game of it. One called for folk "not to get ahead of yourselves", but that referred to posts stating they'd go on to win the cup!! Not up 'emselves or 'owt, oh deary me no....
FA Cup is there only chance of silverware this season, so they will play their strongest team. Also David Silva is looking back-in-form................it's gunna be tough for REDS............but let's enjoy it and see where it takes us.
they're not saying anything controversial. incredibly likely they will win, and win comfortably. if they still competing in CL & PL, we might have a better chance. but this is all they have now.
The only chance we have to get anything from this game and it's a very slim chance is that they don't take it seriously and under estimate us. If they're professional they'll win comfortably IMO.
We were in The Arkle pub before the Liverpool game, some major patronisation from the scousers came our way. One Liverpool fan in particular went out of his way to tell us about their impending Champions League match and how he was at work at 6pm so would be leaving with 30 mins to go 'because it will be wrapped up by then' ......we are due a win over City
i know this sounds pretty defeatist, but right now, all i want is to not get beaten as heavily as Weeds did. On paper we don't have a cat in hell's chance...you never know on the day of course
All this about " they'll be playing their best Prem league team cos its all they can win".....Southampton beat it. Believe.
The only hope is that the players think the they've already won it and don't come out fighting. Flicker will have us fighting for every ball though!
Can't argue with any of that. I fully expect a pasting. Anything less than 3-0 will be a good result. They never got out of 2nd gear against Leeds and bobbed 4 in. They'll be well up for it, their only chance of silverware and are a very good team who want to prove the doubters wrong for the remainder of this season.
I wouldn't even compare this to the Liverpool game, their side was barely recognisable when they played us. This score line could end up embarrassing if their team v Leeds is anything to go by.
Liverpool team: Liverpool: Itandje, Finnan, Carragher, Hyypia, Riise, Benayoun, Lucas (Gerrard 75), Alonso, Babel (Kewell 69), Kuyt, Crouch. Subs Not Used: Martin, Pennant, Arbeloa.
Chelsea team: Chelsea: Cudicini, Belletti (Pizarro 74), Terry, Carvalho, Bridge, Essien, Ballack, Malouda (Kalou 62), Wright-Phillips, Anelka, Joe Cole. Subs Not Used: Hilario, Obi, Ben-Haim.
Leeds are awful. If we keep this form up anything could happen. City aren't having a good season, especially lately.
