Include the free kids season tickets in the first category for cup tickets? In particular I'm thinking about the ones that people have obtained that never get used (quite a high percentage I understand although better this season). The ones that have been obtained so someone can have a bit of space next to them and for this eventuality. It's rather unfair if it means a regular pay on the day fan misses out as a consequence. Discuss.
Yes but no upgrades. If its an under 12s ticket then they can buy an under 12s flr the match but they cant wander in to the box office and upgrade it to an adult ticket for their mate bob from down the street
Although even then I can see people buying a junior ticket hoping no one checks. Enough people already try and get into away games etc with junior tickets.
What happens if City don't offer U12 tickets? My brothers got an under 18's season ticket, he'll probably be classed as an adult at Man City...
I would say no. If the ticket isn't being used then fans who pay on the gate and go frequently should get priority. It's time that regular fans were rewarded.
Although I'm a season ticket holder and have been to five or six away games this season (including Rochdale), I don't think I should be first in the queue. Those who went to the Burnley, Hull and MK Dons should be seen to first (IMHO).
bfc season ticket holders are a ever dwindling breed, why should the club want to risk alienating even more by not allowing them to purchase tickets to take there children with them, i agree that some are purchased and never used but plenty of us do use them to take there kids, including myself and i will be royally pissed off if am not allowed to take my child to what will be the biggest game of his life so far just so someone who hasnt watched the reds since our last wembley visit can go instead, after all its not as if we asked for under 11 tickets to be free, its what the club decided
It's a very good question my lad ain't been to many but the recent run has finally got him interested he would now be gutted to miss the game so I'd have to go with allowing them a ticket.
agree ST Dont think there should be an outright stop on these tickets obtaining a cup ticket as it just might be a game like this that galvanises a childs long term support. No upgrades would be the fairest. As it happens I have a juvenile ticket that at the moment is rarely used. My kids are a bit too young to go all the time and they cant go to evening games just yet. Had the cup game been a home game I might have taken one of them but as it is away I dont think I will be.
As I said in my intitial post, Im not talking about the legitimate tickets that are being used, even some of the time, by kids. There are plenty of these tickets that arent EVER used. I certainly don't think they should be allowed to be upgraded.
Agree with the majority here. Obviously you shouldn't allow upgrades. That said, to admit they hardly ever take their kids to Oakwell, but now claim they are entitled to equal priority...hmm
Re: agree ST how can you change something now thats been allowed to be used already this season, my son got a free season ticket but i dont take him to away matches so i used his season ticket to obtain a mk dons ticket for an adult. No harm done enough tickets for the proper fans and will be enough tickets for the teletext fans !!
I'm sure in many cases there are good reason. Tuesday night games maybe too late for young kids to be up on a school night. I'm only talking about those that are abusing the tickets. Not the ones in use legitimately.
Re: agree ST Electronic entry system would enable the club to see what seats are used and when. Any seat that is seen as unused but taken with a free season ticket can incur a surcharge on renewal.
Hang on both my kids are under 12 and go to every home match. Of course they should be included. Just don't allow them to upgrade. That's like saying my kids can't go because other people take advantage of the system
This thread is brilliant. 'Yes, allow them to be used but only for childrens tickets.' 'Hold on, are you saying my kids can't get a ticket?'
