Not quite sure what happened there Not sure who had the worst defence - us or Bristol but both were very poor , Only real difference between the sides was a bit of luck - they seemed to score every time they attacked where we missed some good chances and their keeper made some pretty decent saves. Ref had a mare gave them every decision until they were about 4 up then seemed to switch sides and started giving us some decisions Their first goal was a result of a blatant foul , second blatant defenive **** up 3rd a luck deflection and suddenly we were 4-0 down having missed enough chances to be 6 4 up one thing I will say - the loss of Stones and Goldbourne is a big problem - moving Kennedy to left back and bringing in McNumpty meant we conceded as many goals in one game as most of the previous 10 put together not having Kennedy as the spare centre half makes our defence look just as bad as the dark days under Hill Hopefully the rumours of a new left back are true and we can go back to the 5 at the back system On the positive at 5-1 down I was fearing a huge dent in our goal difference - but we did seem to dig in and kept going bringing back a bit of respectability - it could have been 5-5 if we had played another 10 mins Just hoping its a blip and normal service will resume next week
Always hard to tell on just a first game but he did OK didnt stand out or anything he could be good cover for Dawson but I'd rather have Dawson in than him on just that one showing. One of our better players today
