    Germany (with Mertesacker) have performed better than England (with Terry/Ferdinand etc) over the last few tournaments.

    I'm not a fan of Mertesacker by any means, and if you had just stated "I don't rate Per Mertesacker" then I'd have agreed with you. But you didn't.

    German teams beat English teams in European competition and the German national side regularly wipes the floor with our national side. Also, they have almost no debt in their league and bring through loads of talented youth players who are eligible for the national side, and make the grade. We're light years behind them. Get over it.
