During our recent record breaking run Bobby has only featured in two of those games, but whenever we lose there seems to be an outcry to reinstall Bobby.During the same run Wiseman has featured in three of those games and Foster seven. There seems to be a bigger case to play Fozzie than either of the other two.
I think the argument is to play all three isn't it? We've got no left back or right back so logically the argument is there to play our most lefterly (I know that isn't a word) defender at LWB and our most righterly defender at RWB which, considering their strengths and weaknesses is Wiseman and Kennedy. This leaves three central defensive slots to be filled and the natural selections there are Hassell, Foster and Cranie. The debate isn't just about Hassell at the expense of the others, it's about not being stupid and playing attacking left wingers at right back when you've got two right backs sat on the bench and a further 3 players on the pitch who are experienced at right back. Steele Wiseman - Hassell - Foster - Cranie - Kennedy O'Brien - Perkins - Mellis Harewood - Dagnall
That is too simplistic for folk on here, if they see that someone suggests Hassell should be playing then, it is obviously an attack on Wiseman and flitcroft. That is how it works. No room for sensibility in the Hassell saga !!
We won both. He was man of the match in Hull. We got a clean sheet. If he'd have been selected in the others, we'd maybe have won more convincingly...? Maybe that's me speculating, but if Flitcroft can call Wiseman's display on Saturday "outstanding" then fair's fair.
I've no problems with Bobby indeed I have mentioned times many on here that I'm a big fan of his as a player and a human being.I don't get too wound up in this Bobby/Wiseman debate but I think more could argue a case for Foster to be selected.
putting a spanner in the works, wasn't Foster withdrawn early against Bristol City after an awful 1st half performance?
He was wrongly subbed because he was booked in my opinion. Foster is experienced enough to make sure he didn't get a second yellow and mcnumpty should have gone off
How do you know he was wronly subbed? Did you go down to Ashton Gate? There could have been a convo between the ref and Steele or the Ref and the manager. Fosters been sent off a few times i think so its fair to take him off and not risk 10 men.
You think Foster's been sent off a few times? My memory isn't great but I can't remember him been sent off for us
I remember that and it was well harsh. That was the day Ricardo Fuller spat at someone in the lower west. Rory Delap was getting some jip too, but took it with good spirits and was liked for it. That was before Hemsie's time. I think Fozzie has two career reds at most. Bit soft really for a defender.
Re: Away at Hull two years ago I was not at that one mate, so I cant remember it. But I dont think 2 or 3 in his career at Barnsley is that bad for a defender, that never shirks a battle. Plenty of other players that get sent off more than that per season.
Just asked him on twitter, he replied.. Stephen Foster <s style="text-decoration: none; color: rgb(187, 187, 187);">@</s>foz_06 <s style="text-decoration: none; color: rgb(250, 102, 104);">@</s>Andy__White I have pal. Stoke at home springs to mind.. 3-3 few years back
