Hmmmm maybe a bit over inflated that. Good player but 2m?? Hope the knee injury doesnt ruin him or the don will be cursing for not selling him in jan.
Might be trying to make a statement, that our better players won't go on the cheap anymore. That's what i'd like to think anyway
I agree, I think it's a line in the sand. It's about time too. I still think the Stones deal was a poor one though.
First half decent bid and we'l cream our keks. We will never advance whilst we are a selling club. Would need a promotion to build and thats not forthcoming anytime soon.
If he rates him at £2 million, The Don will flog him for £1 million with £1 million in add on's if he plays 100 Champions League games whilst blindfolded. Have we been took over yet?
Flicker shouldn't have said he rates a player coming into the last 12 months of his contract so highly. Now when it comes to negotiations Scott has more leverage knowing his contract is running out and how highly the manager thinks of him.
I'm not sure we can have it both ways. I've been critical of the club for not talking up Stones' value and playing hard ball with regards to his transfer availability. In Golbourne we have a very consistent player (probably our best this season) and I don't think there's anything wrong with sending out a message to any interested parties that we rate him highly and wouldn't be willing to sell cheaply (again) Plus, he will know how highly Flicker rates him. He's not exactly shy in expressing his feelings for his players is he? No doubt his agent will be touting him around and bargaining a better contract regardless of our comments in the press.
He talks all the players up, especially the ones getting criticism on boards such as this, its his way of managing and keeping the troops on side.
