    is he good enough to cut it in the Bundesliga ? The pretend stuff in the Prem is one thing but in a more competitive, better quality league he'll struggle.

    Wayne Rooney never became the player that was expected. He became a very good player, but his early sizzle for Everton, early days at Man U, and also for England, died away. He can't even nearly lay claim to being an all time great or a genius. If I was picking my best ever England team, he wouldn't be in it, and likewise if you were picking a world eleven, even for a particular year, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't feature at any time (he'd get nowhere near a world eleven all time team - while he has played with, against and been compared to, people who might). It's the papers that hyped him up there, it's the papers that'll knock him back down. Fergie will protect his investment.
