At least half (without looking at them back again) scored from inside our own six yard box. So is the manager still to say Hassell isn't good enough for us?
I think we need to go back to the formation and personnel that kept us solid at the back at the start of the year. They've proved they can do it. 3-5-2 with Cranie, Foster and Kennedy at centre half. I still think we need to bring in a LWB. Losing Golbourne shouldn't have effected us as badly as it has but he's still been a big miss. Kennedy just isn't mobile enough to play that role, he does do a good job at LCB though and that's where I think he should be playing.
That was a flat back 4 though wasn`t it? I think he may do Ok there as wingback, like Stumpy Sheridan did when Thommo was missing in 96/97 .
I reckon he could do a job. He's played at LB a couple of times before but I think he's too important a player in central midfield for us. Dawson and Perkins should start in the middle as Etuhu has gone off the boil recently. I'd rather play one player out of position than change to a less effective system. Maybe Delap but I'd rather we used some of this cup run cash to bring someone in.
it was a flat back four, true but a little lad like Perks hasn't got the stride to do a 50 yard run and be expected to to get back into a defensive position.
Yep, he did. The manager is falling into the classic trap of picking a system and then trying to find players to suit it.
If Bobby got some starts in our extremely leaky defence that's not kept a clean sheet in our last eight games we might just stand a chance of staying up. If we keep with the same old players that are forever failing we can get used to league one football.
