I agree with that 100%. It comes to something when the first player to win a 50/50 ball in midfield was Mellis. He really needs to start the next game as he's looked hungry when coming on off the bench the last couple of weeks.
I still think Flitcroft is the right man for us at the moment but we've gone from a bloke who only ever had one plan to a bloke who has too many plans and keeps getting the starting line up and formation completely wrong. You can't really judge him on what happened yesterday, any Championship team going there is going to get beaten 99 times out of 100. Why does he keep starting Tunnicliffe? I'm sure the lad will be good in the future but he's league one at best at the moment, amazed Flitcroft is picking him ahead of Mellis who seemed to be at the centre of anything we did well when he came on. We really need to go back to 3-5-2 and get a left wing back in on loan or just play Kennedy there.
Keith Hill had just as many plans as Flitcroft, they're one and the same. Both managers chop and change the squad for fun. Hill got the starting line up wrong more often than he got it right and changed the back four weekly just for the hell of it. Flitcroft got lucky and has now been found out
Do you know me? No, so **** off with the assumptions. I gave my short thoughts last night, probably not the best time to post owt admittedly. But I am entitled to an opinion and I stand by what I said - we stood and stared, City were decent without even getting out of 1st gear, and I felt embarrassed watching that first half. And it's also my opinion that this manager has run out of luck. I fear for our safety in this division mainly because he keeps selecting the wrong players, plays his favourites, and talks a lot of ****. I genuinely believe we have the players to keep us up. I pray that "Flicker" realises this, and starts playing them. I will add, that I found it quite stunning to see Tunnicliffe start. What had he done to warrant that? The likes of Hassell and Mellis in particular, were pivotal in getting us to the Quarter Final. Yet they were overlooked in favour of a player on loan, who has looked piss poor previously. That's bizarre management, and certainly does nothing to support this 'in it together' or 'family' ****** that this manager preaches. He said Etuhu was a real find in midfield, like a new signing, as was Kennedy. So what's he doing playing Etuhu anywhere but central? Ahead of actual wingers like O'Brien.. I am fully supportive of this club. I love Barnsley FC. I wouldn't have travelled over yesterday had I a knife to sharpen. If I have an alternative opinion that you don't agree with, fair enough. But **** off trying to tar me with your nonsensical ********. Anyway, onto the next one... let's hope we pick up a crucial point or 3 on Tuesday.
Others may have done, but never have I referred to Flitcroft as a saviour. Yesterday, his team selection and tactics were that of a pillock.
We played against a weakened hull team and a MkDons team that were 13 in league one when hassell played. When your playing a league above and they are on it, then it's hard to stop. When Barnsley played down at Stadium MK barnsley barnsley played very very good for 50 minutes just like city did. We did the same to Mk as City did to barnsley. We looked stronger quicker and faster then them and they city did us. The players were trying. All this put a put in, you do that and you will either get booked or they will go past you and have 3 on 4 at the defence.
Hassell didn't get in the pitch yesterday so how the fook do you know how he would have performed? Tunnicliffe is a waste of a shirt, I am just praying we don't extend his loan.
Hassell's looking better with each defeat he isn't a part of. Tunnicliffe - played 3, lost 3, conceded 13. Nowt else needs saying.
Any performance yesterday still was better than his in the Wolves match and Posh match in the early part of the season.
Bobby has had some very good performances this season too. Why don't we use them for a comparison? You can pick any player and find a couple (at least) of stinkers. Tunnicliffe has had 3 out of 3.
Wiseman - to blame for 2 goals against Blackburn, and 2 in the Posh game you refer to. Unlike yourself, I'll happily admit that Bob was poor against Posh, and not at his best at Wolves. He was fantastic at Rochdale, though, Swansea away, Bristol at Oakwell, Hull away, Millwall away, Brum at home, and MK Dons away. So, IMO, in 80% of his appearances he's been fantastic, and we didn't lose many games. Name me 5 great displays by Wiseman this season.....
Lucky at Rochdale all i will say about Bristol was he could have cost barnsley three points, 3 massive points.
In all fairness to Bobby Hassell Him saying he was lucky has more to do with the man's modesty and self deprecation than anything else. He was outstanding that day, whereas Alnwick was irresponsible and unprofessional.
Re: In all fairness to Bobby Hassell Agree, he's not going to say 'yeah I was awesome, saved the day, Alnwick's a prat'. Hassell was immense that day, both in defence and in net. To dismiss it as lucky, whilst pinpointing two other games where he was below-par, is totally unfair.
