Tunnicliffe hasn't contributed ANYTHING since he came to the club. Worst loan signing for a long time. Wiseman proved once again how bad he is at defending, failing to get within 30 yards of a player who was standing still waiting for the ball at times. Etuhu showed that he has absolutely no defensive side to his game (and I'm yet to see an attacking side either) and also that he is willing to put in zero effort. If hassell, Mellis and O'Brien had started yesterday instead of those three then I'm certain the game would have been very different.
Strikes me all three will play. Tunnicliffe because that's part of his loan agreement that he gets starts and if we don't play him then we don't get anymore opportunities to get more United youngsters in on loan. Etuhu will play because Flitcroft thinks young Kelvin's like a son to him.Worrying when managers come out with statements like that. Wiseman will play because Flitcroft doesn't rate Bobby and Bobby apart no one else can play there.
It's think Flicker has got Keith Hill syndrome when it comes to Wiseman. The guy is completely useless and would look overawed playing for Penistone Church, never mind at Man City. All the problems we had came down the right hand side where Nasri and Kolarov had a field day and the freedom of Manchester to pick a pass or cross or shot. That's not down to quality that's down to a basic lack of positional sense for a right back. Which leads me on to our kelvin. He makes Scott Wiseman look like Cafu. He gave the ball away in the first 2 mins (as he often does) and his head went down. He could have been taken off then. Impact low, effort minimal. I really don't understand how he gets picked in front of Mellis, Hassell, Delap or anyone else at the club for That matter. Completely garbage and hasn't done anything since he's been at the club to convince me otherwise. I understand we played the reigning champions yesterday and I know we were always going to lose but that's no excuse to play players that just are not up to it even at Championship standard.
I thought Etuhu had turned a corner, think he had two good games in a row - before and since he's been absolute gash and doesn't seem to have any real strengths. Is he meant to be an attacking or defensive player? I'm sure when he signed I saw an interview with him where he said something like he's able to excite the fans. I or8 mate.
The article in the Chronicle about Etuhu said everything about his performance yesterday, his heart is blue, he watches them whenever he can, he started his career there, he is best mates with Micah Richards add to that Flitcoft gushing with his admiration for them saying he picked more pressers than passers, err where was any pressing all the changes in routine over the last couple of weeks we were well and truly dumped on
Flicker out what a ****a he is I always said he was u/s Glavin was over hyped too Burn the club down Cryne needs burning on a stake listen at you all , what utter muppets
To be fair to Wiseman, City picked him out as our weak link. They'd clearly done their homework. I've not seen the goals back yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if at least 3 came from his flank where he constantly stood off his man. He's not a defender. Been saying it for 12 months.
It's tough to watch a game when there are no realistic "if onlys" to cling to afterwards. Keep raging at anything and everything if you prefer to, but some of you need to accept that you follow Barnsley.
. He was not helped by anyone on his side, but that does not alter the fact he is a poor fullback, far better as a wing back, but not good enough as full back.
