Three defeats in ten or eleven games isn't down to luck but good management.I think most managers make some mistakes during a game, good managers try and do something about it.I'm not here banging the drum for Flitcroft indeed when K.Hill left I stated on this board that the best thing Flitcroft should do is also to go then we could have a clean sweep behind the scenes.I also said if he stays here as soon as we hit a bad run the old Rochdale, too much like Hill statements will get thrown at him, which seems to be happening now.I think in Flitcroft we have a very honest, hard working, passionate man who truly loves managing our club.If he makes mistakes he holds his hands up admits it and tries to change things.Five weeks ago our team was seven points from safety, we're now one point with two games in hand from safety. To me that's progress. Is Flitcroft the messiah,no,but I think he's a very capable driven young manager who I believe will lead our team to Championship safety.
i find the reaction from some, to a couple of defeats, just unbelievable. i honestly don't know what some of our esteemed supporters expect. the criticism following our Cup exit just defies belief
I think some people can judge a manager or player too soon.If you state you don't like a manager/player from day one your not likely to change your opinion or you might appear daft. You then end up wanting the manager/player to fail to justify your comments. That's the way it seems to me.
I think you are over reacting to the criticism to be honest. Reading to much into it, weighing it up against your own opinion, and then discarding it as rubbish.
I'd rather the people Who need to get things off their chest do it on here, rather than down at Oakwell. The BBS is quite effective as a release valve for pent up emotions. Three points on Tuesday night will put most folk in a better mood on here.
Yay! I always hoped this day would come when I'd be correct on summat! I wonder whether Site Admin could make it a sticky?
Ten squares?? I'm an old duffer, easily confused by cryptic messages. You're befuddling my two remaining brain cells, mate!
Err I'm using forum runner and obviously my smiley thingys arnt showing up properly so.....it was a thumbs up, pint of beer, party hat, a big slab of cake and 6 union jacks....it doesn't quite work the same tho does it mate heehee
He is Hill`s best mate, his right arm, so of course there is going to be stuff like that said, he talks to Hill at least once a day while he is at oakwell. I make no bones about not wanting him here after Hill went, I still feel the same, but if he gets the set up of the team wrong 4 times on the bounce, no matter what he does at halftime that shows he is lacking in awareness. Admitting he got it wrong does not make it any better, just shows he does not know how to set the team up in the first place. I will always be a Barnsley fan, just not allow my allegiance to the club blind me to the shortcomings of the manager.
Most people haven't been criticising the defeat but the manner of some individual performances and that once again some players appear to be completely fireproof and undroppable.
I agree with all that mark always said throw a bad apple away not just half of it , picks his Rochdale mates too much and disregardes proven championship players, dont think we will be renewimg our season tickets if he is still there next year thats is my choice and my right
Completely agree. Our good run was nothing to do with luck and everything to do with good management. I happen to think he's made some mistakes in these last few games, but that doesn't change the fact that he did superbly well to turn a losing side in to a winning one so quickly. Far more positives than negatives since Flitcroft took over. I found yesterday's performance really disappointing, but I think Flitcroft has done a lot more right than wrong. Still think it'll be a very difficult job to steer us clear of relegation though.
