and for those of us who are stuck at work and can't listen to it? a synopsis or another url to the audio would be great. :banghead: Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Interviewer asks about Dawson: everything's fine, Flitcroft talks about Dawson for 5 minutes. Interviewer asks about Mellis: everything's fine, Flitcroft talks about Mellis for 5 minutes. Interviewer asks about Hassell: suddenly everything's not fine, Flitcroft shuts up, goes cagey, calls the interviewer disrespectful. Good grief.
The way Flicker and Hill have both answered questions raised about Bobby Hassell make me think that there is something underneath all this that isnt right. It is weird how he gets overlooked and they then cant answer a simple question about him. He then goes on to say we are short at the back now McNulty is injured which is a position I'd say Bobby could fit straight into. In fact Hassell is a far better CH than McNulty.
sounds to me like hassell is purely making the numbers up,,,you never know he may get a game if wiseman gets injured.
Wind the Audio Boo link to around 6:30 to get to the Hassell part. In short....... * Flicker thought Andy Giddings was disrespectful asking about Bobby. * Says Bobby will be in the squad tomorrow. * Says he's wrote about it in his programme notes tomorrow and says everyone should read them. * Said we've been winning without him and he'd rather speak about those that are playing. * Said all players should be a fan favourite when Giddings mentioned Bobby being a fans favourite.
I think a manager should be open to any question, that's on peoples mind..as long as its not repeated every time he shows his face....we've had managers before that tried the pick there favorite interviewer, so the awkward questions weren't asked.. Dont care who was incharge if that happens again..the participants should get sound and severe slagging..
Very interesting, not sure what to make of it, only that I don't think he's going to be involved in the first team any time soon. Flicker obviously doesn't rate him and I think that the fans getting on the back of other players has riled him and perhaps made him even more stubborn when it comes to Hassell. "Every player should be a fans favourite". It's obvious that he knows very well what the fans opinions are (both positive and negative) and it's obvious he's not going to change the team because of it. Neither should he, he should stick to what he believes is right regardless of what the fans think, otherwise what kind of manager does that make him?
At the risk of repeating myself something went wrong with Hassill ,Hilland his son Flitcroft and flicker hasn,t the balls to say what and he will never play Bobby whilst he is in charge. Hand in heart how mamy people could say that his bestiest mate is a Rochdale division 2 player and is not fit to lace Bobbies boots this is why i dont like Flitcroft an dcan never understand why he over rides pruvedn players to give his mate a game shpuld have left with his papa
best part of this interview is that jim mcnumpty is injured he dosent deserve a place in any league 2 teams never mind us
As summary of what he said about Hassell: he was unhappy at being asked why Hassell wasn't featuring in the team saying that it was a disrespectful question. Said he would be in the squad for the Brighton match. Question was repeated along the lines of Hassell being a fans' favourite making it difficult for Flitcroft. He said that all players should be fans' favourites and bizarrely chose to talk about Dagnall in that regard. He was obviously really touchy about it and his refusal to talk about Hassell was made to look silly when he had just answered a similar question about why Mellis hasn't been starting.
Not good though that Giddings is perfectly alright to talk about two players in Dawson and Mellis who haven't played much recently for different reasons, but when it comes to asking about another player along similar lines all of a sudden it's disrespectful. Glad that Andy asked about Bobby and hope Flicker getting titty lip on to him doesn't stop him asking about him in the future.
thing is,is flicker really sticking to what he believes in?..yes we've had a good run since he took charge, but for me some of those wins should have been easier, our defence is critised because on the whole its still poor, most goals have been conceded in and around the six yarder and often result in defenders looking at one another, arms outstretched, wondering who was to blame. Our defending of set pieces is shocking and you can see that the opposition is well aware of it. I cant see how hassell could have done any worse than those who have been playing, mcnulty and wiseman keep getting dropped and then started again, but hassell doesnt even get a sniff, we seem to have addressed our scoring problems but that defence is as bad as it has been all season and before for that matter.
So what do YOU read into it? Taking into account he answered the same question about Mellis ? I dont have to read anything into it, because I know the answer, do you ?
