I don't normally listen to football interviews because they are banal but the length of this thread forced my hand. It was banal as expected but Flickers response to the question about Bobby was bizarre. It is plainly obvious there is a problem there, just as there was with Keef and Bobby. Very worrying. You have to say massive respect to Sir Bob for sticking with it and not causing any ructions, he has accepted it with the grace befitting of such a club legend.

Hassell's quite simply not good enough for the championship and in my opinion we will be in the non league next season if he wants to start games regularly.

I think Flitcroft should be going to see Patrick Cryne and see what he thinks about reporters asking disrespectful questions the day before a league game.
Maybe the club should ban Radio Sheffield and at the least Andy Giddings from any barnsley press conference.

SAF wouldn't have that in one of his press days so why should David Flitcroft and Barnsley Football Club.

The reason it was a 'disrespectful' question is that Giddings already knows the answer. Something has gone on behind the scenes, and Flitcroft clearly doesn't want to air his dirty washing.

    Non league?

If you think the spineless pair of wiseman and mcnulty are worth a start before someone committed to the cause then you are losing it phil.

So just how was it disrespectful ?
The same question was asked about Mellis and it was answered totally differently, yet when asked about Hassell he goes all stroppy, you do not have a clue as to what the problem with Hassell is and your assumptions are way way off the mark !!

    Mcnulty PPOTY
Wiseman had an approach from a champ club in January.

Be very interested to see were he goes when he leaves oakwell.
    Mansfield maybe.

    Two points Phil mi owd:

1: Even if we played Bobby and nobody else we still wouldn't be in the non league next season; we can only be relegated one division.

2: If you seriously think that Wiseman and McNulty are better defenders than Bobby then you're not watching the same games as me.

They are, I don't think it. They are.

If Hassell wants to play football next season i said.
It doesn't matter which league we are in, we'll not be good enough.

What a load of tosh. Flitcroft told us what he thought of Hassell before the Peterborough game back in January.
I accept his decision, he is the manager afterall.

    This is your quote matey
"Hassell's quite simply not good enough for the championship and in my opinion we will be in the non league next season if he wants to start games regularly. "

As you can see quite clearly you say WE will be in the non-league, not Hassell.

Also you are wrong aboutWwiseman and McNulty too.

You said we'd be playing in the non leagues next season if Hassell plays and that is as wrong as your opinion on Wiseman and McNulty.

Mcnulty did get the players player of the year last season, but how is that relevant still a year on? It appears he dropped lucky last season to play 40 odd games for the first time ever and now he's back to his old sick note self.

As for Wiseman I don't think being wanted by a championship level club automatically makes you good. If that's the case the likes of Nile Ranger, Tommy Wright etc are too as they have also played at this level.

I'm sure all of us would be fine with Bobby not being in the team if he wasn't as good as those in front of him. If some billionaire took over and bought a few multi million pound internationals for the defence and we didn't conceed 14 in 4 with them nobody would be calling for Bobby to play. It's that it's clearly a personal vendetta from Flicker against a club legend and we won't hear the truth in public.

He bangs on and on about "family", Bobby's been with us 9 bloody years, how family is that in this day and age?

Fair enough if he doesn't want to play him but how is it disrespectful to ask (which he did exactly the same with Mellis) why he isn't in the team at present?

Not surprised by this comment from flitcroft, he's started to crack up since the Golbourne injury.

Give him a 4 year contract some said a few week ago, lol!!

A win is a must tomorrow night or it's looking very bleak, the fans could also turn on him.

    @hemsworth-tyke

You have just confirmed that you know **** all about football.

Im not Bobby Hassell biggest fan, but he is far better than both mcnulty and wiseman.

TBH we would probably do better with 10 men including Hassell than 11 with them 2 in the team

Correct. He's a Hill clone; he'll be on about us being skint next and shopping at Aldi. He needs to have a good long look at himself and differentiate himself from failure Hill otherwise as you say he'll soon go the same way (remember he was 3rd or 4th choice - the board won't need much persuading if things turn for the worse.

Try netball Phil. It's not as complicated as football.

Don't tell Mrs C I said that though, she played for Poland at youth level and takes it very seriously. ;)
